@ZirconTv I came on to YT to see what the “broader” range on my stud finder meant. It says ready and displays what looks like the letter X. I have the HD55. Can I just say that I’m actually impressed you replied to comments here despite this video has been posted over 13 years ago.

Hi Everyone, i have the same problem but just changed the battery for a Duracell and works perfectly 👍

PLace it on the wall the push and hold the button without moving. Then move it to one side until you see the arrow. When you see an arrow that's just the edge of the stud. Keep going until you see the arrow split that should be the middle. Do the same from the opposite side of the stud to find the other edge.

I just purchase this and it’s a piece of crap! Does not work! Calibrating makes no sense and you have to keep your thumb on the power button the whole time.

I went back to old Reliable, a thin nail and a hammer. These zircon stud finder sucks, don't waste your money.
