Amish Apple Fritter Bread is a soft sweet, quick-bread filled with apples and sweet brown sugar cinnamon. It taste like a apple fritter donut. Its a delicious treat with coffee or tea for dessert, snack or breakfast. This bread is irresistible.

Ingredients

1/3 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (pinch)

2/3 cup white granulated sugar

1/2 cup salted butter softened

2 large eggs

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup milk (I used 2% milk)

1 lg or 2 small Granny Smith apples, peeled then diced, toss with 2 tbp sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon pinch salt

THE GLAZE:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 Tablespoons milk more or less depending on thickness of glaze wanted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line with parchment and Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray.

(Optional, line pan with parchment then spray with non-stick spray for easier removal.)

Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, and pinch salt and nutmeg together in a small bowl. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat white sugar and butter together, using an electric mixer, until smooth and creamy.

Beat in eggs, one at a time, until blended in; add vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder together with a whisk, then slowly pour this mixture into the butter mixture. Stir until blended.

Slowly mix milk into the batter until smooth.

Pour half the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan; then top evenly with half the chopped apples. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture evenly over the apples.

Lightly pat apples into batter.

Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer, then top batter evenly with remaining apples, then sprinkle remaining brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.

Lightly pat apples into batter; swirl brown sugar mixture through apples using knife or spoon.

Bake, uncovered, for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of loaf comes out clean.

Glaze: mix powdered sugar and milk together until combined.

Let bread cool for at least 15 minutes before drizzling with glaze. Slice, serve and enjoy!

Thank you for this great video!

Is that some homemade ice tea on the counter? If so I’d love to see a recipe on it in the future!

I wish that there was a link to the recipe for printing because YouTube won’t let us print or copy and paste the recipe to allow us to print it.

I made this yesterday. The taste was amazing. My one question is, when I cut into the bread, I noticed that the apples went to the bottom. I followed the recipe just like you did. Can you tell me why this happened. I know my family loves this bread because they went thru a whole loaf within 30 minutes 🎉

The video says 2 cups of flour but the written recipe says 1 1/2. Which is it

Your ingredient list in the description box states 1/2 c butter but in your video you state 1 stick of butter, which is 1 cup. Which should it be?

I think if I make this, I may substitute cardamom, because we dont care for nutmeg.
