I called SDGE and they told me they haven’t figured out how much they would pay for kWh given back to the grid yet

Good job on your vids... what about people who will install Solar themselves, do they have to show SCE they hired a contractor? I have to file this application and I guess I will see. I only have a few days now.

some one will design a sistem that will work as a heat pump during day storing ice and Cold water in one tank, this will be used for air conditioner and hot water on the other, refrigerator with doble insulation and even a fase change material that allow then to shut of during most of the night, so power consumación during night is at a minimum.

I have no problem with this new plan. It just shows the true value and ROI for solar which is different than the subsidized version that had been in place. As my state never had Net Metering it doesn't affect me and even in such situations with batteries and self consumption the ROI is still there with today's solar and energy prices. It's not 3 years it's not 5 years but rather 9 to 12 which will undoubtedly deter some from going solar.

Pge increased their rates in 2022 by 21%. Im not sure what the other main utility companies did. But with pge im sure its been more than 25% since 2017.

I've long said that the best solution for the excess electricity sent back to the utility, is for the utility to pay the average wholesale rate for the producion of electricity that's supplied to the utility for every Kw supplied by the home owner. This could be as a credit on the account.
The wholesale price obviously changes but it could easily be set for six months or a year.
The utility company is effectively getting another reliable supplier at market rates and the homeowner knows roughly what they will achieve.

I live in California and this is the sole reason I'm getting solar installed right now. I do have a question though. Technically if at some future date I install a supplemental off grid system to power my shop and future EV's, under these rules would it change the NEM status of my existing system?

The oxymoron of California, trying to be carbon neutral while the Public Utility claiming they don't make enough money because a green alternative doesn't allow them to charge the maximum amount per capita.

I live in Texas, from day one I've paid a connection fee and pay for all imported at 10 cent per KW and get paid 8 cent per exported KW. The rebate I received is the federal.

This is inevitable in states with a lot of solar, BUT, this should make electricity cheap during solar hours. If the rate is low to people making solar, it should be low when your neighbor buys it. And California should install chargers wherever cars are parked during solar hours.

Solar pros! Any chance you can explain what the next move should be for a solar rep in CA. If we move to a different state, if so which one? The golden days of solar in CA are over I’m just look8mg ahead to the next best opportunity. Would love some feedback. Thanks. Which is the next best state in terms of finial gain compared to CA

What happens in 20 years when the "grandfathered in" period expires? Will everyone be forced into NEM 3.0? Or by then it will be NEM 5.0 or something ridiculous. Once again, the rich privately owned utilities win over the average person.
