Mother of murdered girls calls ex-husband the 'devil' in 'honor killings' trial

The mother of Amina and Sarah Said was soft-spoken on the witness stand, but her message about how she felt about her ex-husband was loud and clear when referring to him as the "devil."

A Dallas jury unanimously found Yaser Said guilty of killing his two teen daughters, Sarah and Amina Said.

Judge Chika Anyiam sentenced Said to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors said Said, a native of Egypt, was angry that his daughters were dating and that the boys were not Muslim. They claim in a 911 call from the night of the murders, Sarah said her father was attacking her.

Said's defense attorney said he will be filing a notice to appeal.

I remember this case. The mother lured the girls back by lying to them that their father would not hurt them again. He had abused them many times before.The Mom is just as responsible.

She has a lot of nerves. All these women that keep kids around abuse need to take responsibility too. She did nothing to help them.

Still so frustrated with the mom everytime I hear this case. I know he abused and manipulated her but as a mother you put your children's safety first, what was she thinking going back to him with her children.

The mother seems to be guilty as well. They had already gotten away from him, into another state. All she had to do was stop answering the phone.

I aslo agree with many others. If it was not for the mother wanting to go back, they would of still been alive and living a new life. The mother is aslo to blame

I had an Egyptian co worker and her husband was beyond abusive, she fainted at work one time out of all the stress at home. I’m Mexican and her fear truly scared me everyday 🥲 rip beautiful girls

I feel sad the mother lost her kids but she is a HUGE part of why they are gone. She made them go back despite them begging and pleading because they KNEW he would kill them. She knew he followed them around filming them along with everything else he did yet she forced them back into that environment

The mother is just as responsible as the father, she knew that he would kill them as soon as she brought them back and did it anyway. She can’t go around acting like the victim when she had opportunities to get them to safety and away from him

I watched a documentary about this years ago, the father had killed them in his cab while the daughters where on the phone screaming for help, there is a recording of this, the mother's sister had been looking after them, she didn't want them to return home but the mother convinced them, the mother is as evil as the father and the girl's brother was abusive towards them too, I felt sorry for their aunt because she knew this would happen if they returned home...

Why would they need to look at anyone else? He was the last one with them, in his cab, went missing the same time they died, AND most importantly the victim called 911 to tell them he killed her.
