If she wanted to end her life then that's her right.. but she had no right to take her children's lives because they were innocent.

So, so sad. You simply are not in your right mind to take the lives of your children. I was pregnant and visiting the falls in1975. I saw a man's head and right arm pop up going down river. No one believed me. 2 days later they found his body. Depression kills the victim once but kills the family every day over and over for the rest of their lives.

Since one of the children was only 5 months old, the mother may have been going through postpartum depression still. Regardless of why, this is truly heartbreaking.

I live in Scotland. Back in 2001, there was a mother who threw her two children off a cliff and then threw herself over. All 3 died on impact. The youngest was found still strapped into his pushchair. I drive by where it happened quite often because it's not a cliff you can miss.
I was only 8 in 2001, but it's burned into my memory forever.
After an investigation, the mother was suffering from post natal depression, and they couldn't decide whether it was post natal depression or post natal psychosis.
When I had my own child, I developed severe and crippling post natal depression. The thoughts, the feelings, the loneliness....the dark. I'll never forget how it made me feel. I went to my GP and thankfully got help, and I feel very fortunate because I was able to receive help....not everyone does 😪

Edit because I also remember a woman who threw her baby out a window. Thankfully, the baby was able to survive. Being sleep deprived can make you hallucinate (talking from experience)
The mother called her doctor, plus the hospital so many times and every time, she was brushed off.

My neighbor and my sister-in-law (both nurses) were victims of postpartum and took their own lives. Not saying this was the case here, but it’s what jumps to my mind and reminds me not to judge.
