I would say Last Nite is actually their biggest song, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out out this was in fact about Reptilia. Great video !

I didn't know that the strokes were around for so long it sounds like something youd hear at your local dive bar

I used to run miles and miles, listening to the Strokes on my first gen iPod. I miss the early 00’s.

Julian always sings kinda off, but it just works. It's crazy that it works!

The Adults are Talking will be their defining song in 10 years. Mark my words…

“The room is on fire as she’s fixing her hair.”

The delivery on this line alone was enough to cement this as their best track ever and push the Strokes into legend status if you ask me. That shit is, was, and always will be, phenomenal.

Just for the sake of accuracy, Nikolai has recorded Room On Fire with Gordon Raphael's Precision Bass (not the jazz bass he used for touring) :)

I like reptilia but wouldn't cosider it their best. Im a big sucker for songs like someday, or automatic stop; but in general they have such an iconic sound that its just so addictive to listen to. I simply can't decide which one is the best. That being said, Im absolutely in love with the new abnormal, I've listened to it on repeat countless of times and Ode to the mets just hits different, that song is masteerful in every possible way, also considering the fact that the album matched more or less with the pandemic something jsuct clicked in my head with this song and album. At the door also has such a cool guitar too, selfless shows the maturity of julians voice, and I could go on about every song on that album, its simply peak strokes, while being the most "different".

When you wanna hate the rich kids, but you can’t because they were better.

Love the strokes, would love to see you look at the libertines - up the bracket next

I feel like you did the bass dirty here given how prominent it is in the mix and how whilst the guitars are doing their complex riffs the bass is adding its own counter melody that also compliments the guitars

I will always be thankful for the first two records that The Strokes put out and then the handful of awesome songs they’ve released since.

Great video series. I like that you included ideas to help imitate the tone. I look forward to seeing more videos like this 🙂
