✅ Discover what to eat to lower blood sugar, lose weight, and get your best A1c ever

We are all familiar with the mitochondria—the powerhouses of our cells, essential for energy production and overall health. This video explores the intricate relationship between mitochondrial function, insulin resistance, and dietary choices. Discover four specific foods that can significantly boost mitochondrial biogenesis and efficiency, which, in other words, help you fix your mitochondria to live longer. Get ready to optimize your cellular respiration and take your well-being to the next level.

Studies mentioned:

Deficiency of subsarcolemmal mitochondria in obesity and type 2 diabetes

The impact of diet upon mitochondrial physiology (Review)

Dietary bioactive compounds as modulators of mitochondrial function

Genistein stimulates insulin sensitivity through gut microbiota reshaping and skeletal muscle AMPK activation in obese subjects

On a high-fat diet of 30-35% of calories coming from fats as mentioned in this video, it's necessary to state:
- Where the other 65-70% of calories are coming from
- What types of fats we are talking about
- The amount of sugars (of any type) being consumed, in what proportion relative to each meal.

Regarding HFD not being "common everyday diet", perhaps this video should look into what is a "natural" diet for humans, rather than "common" these days.

For over 2 million years, humans evolved eating a diet very high in natural animal fats and protein, without agriculture, eating only the occasional seasonal fruit to help with fat storage before harsh winters.

Could it be that it's actually the high processed fats and excessive carbohydrates/sugars which are not mentioned in the studies, that are at the root of the health problems we see in today's society?

Please loose the music when you are speaking about your topic. I'm interested in your information, not struggling to hear you over the music. Thanks

Most Dark chocolate brands are also high in Cadmium and lead. The chocolate brands lowest in heavy metals are Mast Organic Dark Chocolate (80% cocoa), Taza Organic Chocolate (70% cocoa), and Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate/Twilight Delight (86% and 72% cocoa, respectively)

low carb/keto/carnivore has taken my A1C from 6.2 to 4.9, saying a keto diet increases risk of diabetes is complete nonsense, excessive sugar/carb intake causes diabetes, not a low carb diet

Sally Norton wrote a book called Oxalates which says cocoa, beets greens, spinach, almonds, chocolate, kiwi, raspberries high in oxalates which caused me 2 kidney stone operations in 20 years.

Beets have an enzyme that kill polyphenols so don’t add beets to your blueberry smoothie. Eat them separately.

I think you are on to something here. Thank you for doing this video. I am 80 and I have something beyond what you said, that's important to share with you. I read a lot of MD written health books. In one there was a footnote referencing a single study that concluded that most enzymes in our body require an alkaline environment. A year ago I was having a hard time getting my NO numbers into the normal healthy range. None of the usual things worked. The NO conversion in the blood is accomplished by an enzyme in the blood. I started eating a strongly alkaline diet. It only took a day and a half and my numbers shot right up into the extremely healthy range, and they have been staying up as I continue to eat alkaline foods. My blood pressure went down, my insulin resistance subsided. At night I add 1/8 t cyanne to applesause, and also 1 T of xylatol. This stimulates the saliva flow in the mouth. And I can feel the parthenogenesis in my mitochondria going strong all night, and I have lost 40 lbs of fat. That's it. Thanks again. Over and out.

I was type two diabetic and blood sugar issues since I was really young, now 56. I did my own test and got the best bloodwork I've ever had and what finally gave me normal bloodwork was Keto bordering on Carnivore. Mostly red meat including lots of organ meats and only a small number of veggies and seeds. Lots of polyphenols from teas with cloves, cinnamon. I also had a food allergy test to make sure I wasn't eating anything that was complicating things, and found that I had many food reactions, so I avoided them. Have not had a problem with any blood sugar or energy ever since. I was also fighting other health issues while doing this and it helped me with other conditions as well. My doc said my A1C was the lowest he had ever seen and perhaps as low as the test could go. All other markers were perfect, and I've never had a good blood test since I was pre-teen. I would consider my diet higher in fat now, and it used to be very low fat when I was diabetic, so I am going to stick with my diet since all markers are perfect. Always take these studies with a grain of salt and work with your doctor's and look at your own markers and what is working for you. Because in my case, if I followed this advice I would not be doing well because I have a huge reaction to soy and chocolate.

Dude - this was great. Wished you'd stressed the importance of magnesium not only for mitochondria itself but every piece of ATP needs to be bolted on to a piece of magnesium to be biologically active and usable: ATP-Mg2+

so let's recap:
1. 1960's the AHA pronounces that saturated fat is the root cause of metabolic disease so everybody should go low-fat, high carb and the result is a surge in Type2 diabetes and obesity
2. Fast forward to 2017, and Keto catches fire. Now, Fat is good and carbs & sugar are bad
3. 2024: Looks like keto is no good either. Mitochondria is what we need to focus on, so ignore the sugar content and go wild with red grapes and dark chocolate
I'm starting to get the impression that the endocrinologist profession can't make up its mind.

Thank you for this video. I'm was at a loss to figure out why I seemed to suddenly begin aging rather rapidly in my 50s. I have a limited diet due to allergies and sensitivities and boom, i had cataracts within a year, diverticulitis, rapid onset hip arthritis, facet joint arthritis, posterior vitrious detachment, heart palpitations, and even my skin which always had people guessing i was 10 yrs younger, had started looking aged. All of the writeups for these conditions always say "common in older people." 😳 I went from spry and young looking to practically blind in a wheelchair in just a few years. I suspect my limited diet was killing me. But all this info is so helpful for nailing down an effective regimen. ❤️
