My son and I are replacing a electronic mirror today, we need the door panel off for the job, this video is so helpful!

How many times the video posted is about the problem you have in your car and the demo is exactly the same car model. It just happened. Thank you Scotty, the speaker sounds fine now. -j

Very helpful! My window got stuck fully down and slipped off its cog so had to give it a helping hand, this video was perfect, not same model of car but same premise.

A little trick to remove the winder pin if you don't have a pick or are worried about damaging the trim. Use a thin cloth (say a dish cloth) and slide it in behind the winder. Pulling the cloth from both sides up while wiggling and it will grab the edges of the pin and dislodge it.
Great videos Scotty.

Hi Scotty. Could you do another video for car doors with power windows and locks?

Thanks Scotty...very precise, simple and to the point. My window rattles when I roll it up or down. I have a nissan sentra. I'm going to attempt to fix it on my day off. Your video helped a lot.

Wow! What a great lesson! At last I know how to remove a door knob from the panel by just removing a pin. Thank's so much Scotty!

Love it! Perfect video on repairing parts that are almost certain to fail once or twice in the life of a car. Question: Are you always succesful in removing the panels with out breaking any of the hidden anchor clips? If so, what's you tip when pulling on the panel to remove it? I usually lose one when doing this myself.

@kzolly there is a little pry bar tool that u can buy, to get into, and behind the plastic clip, that holds the panel on, and use that, rather than pulling the panel off, by hand, it saves the clips, simple,

Although I already knew everything shown in this video, it was fun to watch someone do it without scraping a knuckle and/or spewing out colorful expletives. Now if only I could figure out how to get this spring back in on my 2001 Chrysler Concorde LXi driver's side door handle mechanism! AAGGGHHHH!

@Michiganborn1969 You could if you're lucky, but I was mainly using this video to show how to take a door panel off. Scotty

@theviruskiller91 they sell panels at dealers for a small fortune, or go to a junkyard for a used one. You could try backing it with thin particle board from a lumber yard if you're adventurous. Scotty

In the old days you could go to an autowrecker and get simple parts from wrecks that would sit for years waiting to be parted out. Unfortunately with the rising price of scrap metal it is common now for wreckers to destroy cars more quickly, and so getting cheap replacement parts is more difficult. Prices have risen pretty fast for those used parts as well. I suspect that internet clearing sites have also given salvage yards more access to customers who are willing to pay more.

@scottykilmer Thanks! I'm the type who likes to tinker and try taking things apart. I've managed to bust up a cellphone and a laptop. :) But now I'm cautious and rather watch someone do it first and then try myself.

Also really admire that you take the time to reply to comments here. More power to you.

@Scotty - Thanks for the tip

@Liamautomechanic - Thanks for the info, I actually own one I purchased for use on an ol '72 Lincoln Mk IV. Now I need one for my '05 Jeep Lib'

@rabbaniabrar actually, auto window door panels are easier, cause there's no clip to feed out, as there is no window crank. The auto door window switches just snap in and out, then you unplug em to get the panel out. Scotty
