It is _crucial_ that you get your first hit, and ideally the first down, _before_ the first gen is done.
The Oni is the weakest Killer early-game, even more so than the Trapper since he has no anti-loop or map control until he starts injuring people.

When unbreakable becomes basekit Oni playstyle is gonna have to change so much, I think It will nerf him hard.

another tip is to NOT hold W when turning, as once in demon dash, oni will keep moving forward regardless of whether you hold W or not. Furthermore, holding something like WA to turn left or WD to turn right will actually decrease your turn rate as opposed to just A or D respectively, although I'm not sure why. I just got these from some oni main videos. Oh, also, your turn rate increase when u look up or down, and if you rapidly tap AD, you will slow down significantly, giving you more time to do sharp turns without getting stuck.

Another one I found is to fake your demon dash at times when the survivor is tight looping around tight obstacles, allowing you to predict that they will not go to the next set up because they think you will dash ahead or at a window.

Best tip: use forced penance or sloppy butcher. Sloppy is the better perk, but i found forced penance to be incredibly good on oni

Also a little fun fact I noticed in his bloody weapon the blood starts glowing after hitting a few survivors this is unique to him

Any tips for console oni? Feels harder to play on console with him ...

Oni main here. Tips from my own experience :
1, Master the flicks and get used to his increased lunge attack during blood fury mode
2, when you are being looped use blood fury to mindgame the survivor easily using demon dash.
3, make sure to get first injury before first gen is completed
4, Use demon dash if you can to find hatch
5, Bring addons that increase the amount of blood orbs the survivors drop when they complete an action such as vaulting or throwing a palette, it helps to get your first blood fury easily

I’m a console oni main, honestly, he’s fun to play but can have it difficult moments, I recommend mostly aura reading perks and slowdown perks, gives you time for your power and to track players for blood

I’ve heard people say oni is more hard than fun on console is that true? (Console Oni main here, I have a lot fun with him and I win consistently)

One time when I was new, I was playing survivor on Mother's Dwellings and I made this Oni disconnect after 40 minutes. I was using shadow step to hide in the bushes but he ended searching every single locker. Feels bad man.

Another tip for addons if you wanna know, the addons that make you consume less % when downing a survivors are useless, because if you use an addon that increase the seconds, they make the power last way longer
