Sure, speaker break-in is important. But cable break-in... did you A/B that as well? What changes in the cable after it is broken in? I find it hard to believe this actually makes a difference.

I can't wait for Ethan Winer to write a comment here!

Streaky. Please add list of item names in your description of your videos. Just list what gear you discussed in video. It will make research much easier. Thank you!
PS> Great video and thanks for fantastic tips!

So that 1 meter of mains cable makes a difference in the sound, and you have to burn them in too? gotcha, seems perfectly reasonable.

Does the power cord really make a difference? It's strange .. Do you think those who built the building wired it with meters and meters of electrical cables that cost € 100 per meter? I do not think so! Why would the last meter make any difference? I would like an explanation that is factual.
Also I'd like to know how you can do a serious A / B test if whole minutes of silence pass between A and B. Is there a technique?
Great videos Streaky, thank you! 😊

Where can I find the link to the cable A-B?

From good quality cables with reasonable prices for beginners. I recommend KLOTZ and SOMMER cables. Sommer being slightly more expensive but more interesting options and designs. Sound quality wise, similar I guess, hard for me to say. Either one is good choice. Both german companies. Both brands (Klotz, Sommer) very popular in music business in Poland (cheap and good). Best in this price range. Some people say, similar to Mogami or Monster (and half the price).

It's very reassuring to hear that you dont need to do millions of things to get a good sound. As an aspiring producer (from basic piano medleys to hard hitting dubstep) i always assume im not doing enough to get a loud clean mix. but this video is very helpful. thx a lot, man!! gonna check out more of your stuff ;)

Streaky Im finding it hard to track down the LAT cables since they have shut shop shop could you recommend an equivalent to them like Vovox Mogami?

I agree that quality cables are essential, and for all but professional mixing/mastering applications Cordial makes some great stuff.
They have great TRS/XLR cables with Neutrik connectors, sound really clean, flat, open and are very dependable.

Sometimes people have expensive audio cables and shitty old patch cables for their external mixer/patchbay. BIG mistake!

Just look for thick OFC copper cables with a level of shielding and Neutrik connectors. You will find better, but if you already have good cables like Cordial, you're better off buying an interface with better convertors, other speakers, or solving room issues first.

How in the world can the AC cable matter? Should I get a £200 pr meter cable for my house, studio and all the way to the power plant?!

8-12 stereo units is normal(average) for the top mastering engineers. Gateway, Sterling etc: top mastering studios.

How are they compared to Mogami or Canare?

I have been enjoying your videos since early episodes. But I can hardly watch this . Why are there so many edits. Makes me feel ill. Are they recorded one word at a time and spliced together. Or is it some kind of effect. Dead air is life. Not sure what that means but it sounds like should mean something. I am in no rush to get to the next sentence.

Streaky, check out russ andrews kimber cable. I'm sure they will provide you test cables and perhaps an alternative to lat!
