Erik Lehnsherr in Poland actually finds peace with his family because 10 years ago he made a speech to the whole world in person so that humans would agree not to experiment and enslave mutants.

This is why Erik has to stop the cast iron container against his co-workers so that there are no fatalities at his current workplace.

Of all the villains in comic book history Erik lensherr is the most moral and relatable. He’s straddles the line between villain and reluctant hero.

This scene is everything. Having a normal life changed Magneto. He became a better man and stopped viewing non-mutants as inferior, as shown in this scene.

He saved a man’s life without even thinking about it and then you immediately see the look in his eyes that he started thinking of the consequences of what he just did 😞

After this scene and what happened next to him and his family, there is absolutely no reason to blame him for the fact that he turned on every human being that is no mutant.

Imagine saving someones life and in return they turn you in to the authorities. Classic human race.

As someone who works in a factory, I found this scene remarkably stupid. Not for some technical reason, but because the workers are portrayed as these heartless, mindless jerks. If someone's about to die and a guy whips out superpowers to save him, you know what happens? Absolutely nothing. People just pretend nothing happened and go about their day. Maybe buy Magneto a beer after. Maybe tease him about his being a mutant. Wherever there's dangerous work, there's comradery and kinship. It's one of the most beautiful things about humanity. This scene looks like it was shot by a mutant supremacist.

xavier came from an upper class family, he only understood humans by reading their minds. Magneto came from normal class and struggled to make a living. So he understands human emotion well. His ideology came from his experience while Xavier believes humans can change by listening to their heart without any experience. In the day of the future past, xavier admitted that magneto is right.

Ian McKellan knocked this role out of the park, to the point of no one having a chance at filling his shoes. Michael Fassbender casually walks up and does it with ease. I feel sorry for whoever takes this role in the future, it won’t be easy after these two

In reality: The owner would have laid off all the workers, sold all the equipment to India/China, and made Magneto employee of the month since he could save all the money only needing 1 employee to handle all the manufacturing.

And after this they betrayed him by telling the authorities.

It just shows magneto has some humanity in him and doesn’t go all out psycho killing.

One of the few times Magneto tried to help a human, and it came back to bite him. For all the faults of the Fox X-Men movies, they made me feel like Magneto understood humans and recognized their potential for evil much more than Xavier did.

What I really love about this is the later scene which shows the true nature of humanity. He saved the person, did right for all the others he works with. But then they fear him and his ability and turn on him DESPITE being a person who saved another. That is humanity in a nutshell, fearful, hate filled, not really worthy of greatness.
