Mexican president responds to Trump tariff plans: 'It is not acceptable'

Claudia Sheinbaum warned that Donald Trump's tariffs would cause inflation and job losses in Mexico and the US and added that she would send a letter to the US president elect.

Trump has announced on social media that he will impose a 25% tariff on 'ALL products coming into the United States' from Mexico and Canada as soon as he assumes office. He said the tariffs would remain in place until the two countries clamp down on drugs and people crossing the border illegally

Way to cut the speech to communicate only what's convenient for you. Why not show how she addressed the billions spent in wars that the US could use for the health of its people? I mean, you know there's a lot, and I mean A LOT, of drug addicts in your country yet even asking for basic things like an ambulance is 3k dollars! Do you even stop yourself and think what changes could be done with all that money to tackle that? It's crazy.
Really really hope that instead of criticizing your neighbor for reacting to threats (that come from fear btw US economy is crashing and hard -once again you're funding not one but 2 wars), you all stop one moment to think why these measures are being imposed, and what's the root cause of the problem (and no, nobody especially Mexicans in the US forced your kids to start taking drugs)

My son used to work at the Tijuana factory of Eaton Aerospace an American company. They made parts which were then sent to the USA to other Eaton plants. The factory was in Mexico because Labour was so much cheaper. So is Trump going to put a customs tariff on these parts which will just push up the cost of American made aircraft? Madness.

I voted for Trump and even I know this is a bad idea. Putting tariff on Mexico and Canada will definitely make everything more expensive
