Great content, thanks. The iCloud archive folder is the one that I had forgotten about.

One tip I always use: instead of constantly looking for and using menus etc., I just hit 'command' and the space bar, and start to type in where i want to go ("storage" "iCloud", etc.). You don't even have to type the whole thing; it will autofill and all you have to do is hit 'enter' and you'll be there.

I consider myself to be fairly tech-savvy and LOVE my Mac! I just discovered your channel and wow the wealth of information is incredible. Thank you! I'm probably the one person in the word right now saying "Oh yeah I'm binging on Mac videos." :)

I’ve been a faithful follower for years and thank you for everything. I saved 43.32 gigs in HDD space, but in the process located 356 gigs of replicated partial photo archives. I will be carefully merging this back into my main backup. After recovering the photo archive the grand total is 399.92. Clearly with pictures being my largest file types. I had to comment before I got sidetracked, but these figures are all before a good ol fashioned reboot. On a 2011 iMac 1TB HDD, this is substantial. Cheers to you, buddy.

I went from 759 GB to 498 GB. Insane!! Thank you so much!!

I remember when our PCs had 2 and 4GB and were like “that will never get full”

Little did we know. lol

Thank you so much, David. I got 126 GB of space back. I had old iOS backups, photo, and music libraries. Also, I had about 20 Gb of download files including MacOs installation files.

I typically try to stay on top of things on my Mac but decided to do the exercise just in case. I went from 262gb available to 266gb. My biggest issue was the podcast downloads! Thanks

I'm getting stuck on first hurdle. Did the View > show status Bar. Then spend Applications on the side bar but there is nothing telling me how much space is available at the bottom of the screen. I'm using a 27-inch 2020 mac Mac OS Sonoma 14.3 any help given would be great

Thank you for the information. It seemed after you moved to the lower desert, not many video were done and I lost track of your help. I am glad to have found them again. Low desert? Yes I live in Yucca Valley. Perhaps someday we will run into each other. Perhaps if you and David ever go to Las Casuelas, Tara and I might meet you there for lunch. But for right now, we are staying up were it is cool or cooler. We have an Aussie and even trimmed, she does not like the the warmth of the lower desert at this time of year. I do enjoy your videos and have signed up for your email newsletter as I have missed them.
