My brother drinks 2-6 monster energy drinks a day. He doesn't believe they are bad.

I drink those because I was struggling with alcohol and those have helped me be sober for 5 years now.

I have been drinking energy drinks for 20 years. anything in excess or taken improperly can hurt you. Also some people may be more sensitive or are susseptable to complications. I hate tea/coffee so I have energy drinks. Some of them do have lots of bad ingridients but some are not that bad at all. If you drink lots of water and are a healthy person they probably will never be an issue. I use to drink soda but quit that, that is way worse to be drinking all the time.

Moderation is key ! What about balance. I consume powder super greens with water and lemon juice, at least three times every day. If we don't off set junk food with nutrition from plants we will loose body control.

in high school I was drinking 2+ energy drinks a day, and I got my first kidney infection, which lead to sepsis!

I used to drink them a lot. Had a 9mm kidney stone that had to be surgically removed because it had blocked my kidney function. I put off the pain for almost a week so I didn’t miss work. By the time I got to the hospital, I was cold, sweating and throwing up constantly. They pretty much rushed me to surgery. Never gotten helped at a Hospital that quickly before lol

Just make sure you drink plenty of water after. It wont 100 percent negait the risk but dehydration and caffeine increase the risk, and if your hydrated that helps

I used to drink three Red Bulls a day and a coffee to stay awake…Turned out that I had a medical problem that was preventing me from getting quality sleep, which is why I’d drink that much caffeine and still was barely able to remain conscious throughout the day. I slept 12 hours a day or more and even with all that sleep and caffeine in my system nothing was helping me to not fall asleep on my lunch breaks at work. Luckily I finally figured out that I had a thyroid issue, which unfortunately was also the reason I lost half my hair or more within two years. Hair has not regrown back unfortunately, but luckily I started out with a lot so no one really noticed except me. And my sleep has gotten almost completely better. I’ve more or less developed a minor addition to Red Bull though, so after weening myself down to one a day I eventually went a full month without any. Sleep continued to get better so now I’m trying to avoid it now. I only drink them on occasion now for long road trips or if I’m having particularly stressful day

It’s crazy people blame a product they willingly choose to ingest. The ingredients aren’t a hidden secret.

I was hooked on them, i developed tachycardia, insomnia and my hands would shake.

Started drinking them for more energy, to stay awake and then I was drinking them like a beverage. Very dangerous.

Dudes acting like his wife is dying when kidney stones are a very common occurance. It was most likely more than just drinking energy drinks that has caused this!

This such great information. I thought that the only harm to could come from energy drinks was on heart related . I am guilty of frequently drinking two a day!

There's an older guy at work that had this done and he's going through a lot of issues with his kidney, and liver due to him drinking a lot of tea. He doesn't drink soda or energy drinks... just tea. So it's not just energy drinks.

I used to drink 2-3 16oz AMP energy drinks every day. That was until i developed a 1.5cm kidney stone that got stuck. I almost died from a blood infection and almost lost that kidney. I still to this day have pain in my right flank due to the scar tissue that grew over the stone originally before being surgically removed.

When I was in college, I use to tear up Monster and Red Bull energy drinks like nobody business, as well as the 15hr ones when I use to do double shifts as a CNA, in a nursing home... Made me sweat like crazy and was giving me headaches, so I stop. I suggest reading up on the weightlifter, Dean Wharmby story and it will make you change your stance on drinking energy drinks...

Consuming more than 200mg of caffeine in 1 day doesn't provide much of any benefit anyway. Neither does consuming an additional 1, 000% dv of B vitamins.

So to give some advice about preventing kidney stones, pick your sodas and energy drinks wisely, and drink lots of water. If you're like me and must drink energy drinks for one reason or another, drinking water will help clear out any junk that would cause a blockage

What’s the difference from drinking it in a non sugar form, to those who take the “ingredients” in capsule form? Is it still considered the same? Cause when red Bull came around in the early 2000s most of us who already worked out would supplement with the ingredients. I’ve been fine and I got luscious hair to prove it!! lol
