Tips for using AirTags as a Motorcycle Anti Theft tool

It's a good backup, but it's way better to not get your bike stolen in the first place.

As a kid I stole bikes (not proud of it and did my time) but I was always surprised how easy people made it a simple chromoly chain was enough to deter me because there was plenty of ppl that left them in a parking spot in an apartment parking lot with nothing on it. So if you have a cheap bike a chromoly chain is enough. Don’t get a busa or a liter bike until you can put it into a garage. Same goes for dirt bikes that’s target number one.

Want theft prevention? Use plastic explosives set to a phone's vibrator. By disabling vibration and taking out the part you ensure it will not explode by accident. Set the bomb in a place in which the theft won't see it. Once your car get stolen call home then tell your relative to get the phone under your bed In a shoe box and call the phone name "the punisher" that way your phone detonator which is set to vibrate only when the shoe box phone is used. That way it is just a matter to see the news about a guy losing his legs after his motorbike exploded. Finally pay him a visit then finish the job by crushing apple seeds into a fine powder then making the guy trink es. This way is how you prevent stealing, by giving real severe, and everlasting consequences that will scare future thieves

I found an air tag in my work truck and I tried to explain this to the guys that work with me but they don't want to listen they think you can track something hundreds of miles away . What do I know, I only graduated in 1996 with a degree in electronics engineering .

I have one on my bike and in my car and it works amazingly well. It updates anytime someone with an Apple device is near it, which is all the time. I’ve been able to track it almost in real time in my city and suburbs.

Get a dog GPS like a Whistle and hook it up to the onboard 12V system, so it charges when the bike is running.

It'll work extremely well. Costs about $120 for the gps box, $8/mo to operate

There are also special motorcycle trackers. I have them on my own bikes so I suggest you do research into that. And lets hope your bike doesnt get stolen again

you would a tally really ready hope the thief does NOT have an iPhone because to combat stalking, iPhone will now notify you if you have an unfamiliar airbag nearby for an extended period of time. basically it would tell the thief that the bike is being tracked by an airtag.

The issue with air tags is they tell on you
after a certain amount of time the air tag will actually notify the thief if they have an iPhone that there's an air tag nearby.

so your anti theft device gives itself away.

Just be sure to remove the speaker in it, really easy to do just search it on youtube. If you dont then the thief will be able to trigger its noise to locate it. Another good tip is to plant 2. 1 thats relatively easy to find yet hidden, and another that is an absolute bitch to locate. This way the thief finds the first and wont bother looking for a second right away

There is a French company that developed a system just for bikes called georide, you might want to look into that to track and prevent theft and also notify emergencies if in a crash

Just a little thing that might be worth it, my renters insurance covers my bike. It blew my mind when I found out I was talking to me insurance guy he told me that if anybody vandalizes or steals my bike for any location 100 miles of my apartment they cover it.

And this might also be worth saying while I do think insurance companies are complete scumbags, one of the main reasons why they can pull that scam of you didn't secure your bike properly is most people lie about the all the security features they have on the bike to get cheaper insurance. I know from my own personal experience when I literally call up my insurance guy, yes I use a small company who is an underwriter, when I'm putting insurance on the bike. he tells me flat out you do know we don't check to see if you have an alarm on it right?
And we're not going to come by to see if it's actually in a garage or if it's just in the parking lot.
When I asked him if something happens and it comes time to pay out will the company you're writing the policy for take a Ride by and say there's no way he put the spike in the garage everyday because there's no garage at that address? And then deny my claim because clearly I didn't do everything I said I was doing?
He couldn't answer that question

I have AirTags on my keys, wallet, and threw one in my truck and while they work well I always freak out when I’m at work and I’m a dead zone I get a alert saying my truck was left behind lol

My buddy had one in his wallet when he dropped it at a gas station but the guy that picked it up didn’t have an iPhone, but we still watched it track down the highway because of the iPhones in the cars around him. So the thief doesn’t need an iPhone. He just has to be around people with iPhones for short amounts of time.

Watch out tho if the theif had an iphone it will tell the iphone after a set amount of time that a tracker is on the bike(its to stop people from stalking/ tracking an ex or something)

Get a Tile tracker. Those thing work great and have their own GPS signal. Always knew airtags were some overhyped apple bs
