Thanks for the information, this explained the entire process in a straightforward and understandable way. Truly helpful.

This man is a master instructor. Clear enunciation at measured speed, total lack of distracting blah blah and pseudo-jollity ("Hi guys, how are you all today..." etc etc), perfect synchronisation of the spoken tutorial with the on-screen cursor movements and selections. Oh how I wish that other YouTube how-tos were like this.
Just one question: if I understood correctly, it is not possible to extract/rescue individual files from an image created in this manner. One can only restore the full image. Is that right ?

perfect video, thank you. I am not primarily a PC user (iMac). I just want to confirm that in the event I get a newer computer, but want to save all of my programs (and settings within the programs), documents, etc. this process will transfer to my new computer with everything in place before when upgrading to the new computer? please let me know when you can, thank you so much for this great video.

Very good instructional video. Now, for something different. I have two client corporate accounts that I no longer want or need. Had to add to access resources and work on their projects, but their accounts and influences have NOT gone away. I was told to reimage my laptop and that will wipe them out. What a hassle. Any affirmation to that? Any other options? I also use an external drive.

There is something IMPORTANT missing...When you reboot your computer you need to reboot in recovery mode OR use a recovery USB stick build before AND it must be in the boot order before your hard disk containing windows. You can also specify to boot FROM the usb stick by choosing it on the boot time...Most of the BIOS are using F2 or Delete at boot time...Otherwise you rebooting Windows and nothing else....
Can you change the size and location for partitions such as efi or C: drive if you are cloning...?

Hello. Great video. I'm trying to upgrade my laptop's SSD storage because it's full already. I did the backup and the process was straight forward as shown in the video, however, I noticed that the backup file saved in my hard drive is empty (apparently, but it did took storage from the hard drive). My question is, Is this going to prevent me to restore the data when I install the new ssd in my laptop? Thank you

Thanks for these instructions!

I am stuck however because I did the backup like in your video but I did a factory reset after this and now the computer went back to Windows 10, even though the backup was done in Windows 11.

I downloaded Windows 11 on a bootable drive and am following the video. When I get to the troubleshoot options and click on System Image Recovery, I don't get Windows 11 as the target operating system like in the video at 4:53. Only Windows 10 shows for me.

Can I still restore my files even though it's Windows 10 now?

You forgot to mention that after a successful completion of the System Image Backup, the folder on the external hard drive, you saved this to; 'WindowsImageBackup' shows an empty 0 bytes and the user has no viewing access to this folder and thus therefore, has no way of knowing for certain whether in the event of your PC failing, this System Image Backup will restore ones PC to its original state?.

If i have multiple partitions on the same drive and if i choose to backup just the C:\ partition with my system, when i will restore my system just the C:\ partition will be changed right? The other partitions from the drive wouldn't be erased, i will still have all my files from those partitions untouched?

Can I use this to clone the os to a new M.2 drive so I can boot from the new M.2 instead of the original OS SSD?

Does this work if I want to re-install Windows 11 so I can get out of the Canary build, or will I just end up with Canary again?
