Identify Days with WEEKDAY Function - Excel #Shorts

Excel can determine what day of the week (i.e., is it a Sunday?) from a standard date. There's a formula that will pull out the day of the week from a date and its the WEEKDAY function. But there is a catch...it outputs the numeric value of the day; Sunday is 1, Monday is 2. Then you have to do the mental math of figuring out that number 6 is Friday. Well there's a fix for that. Here's an Excel #shorts video to show you how.

Thanks Doug. Worth mentioning that you don't need the WEEKDAY() function to display the day of week. In B2 enter =A2 and copy down, then change the format to dddd. WEEKDAY() is good if you actually need to extract the numerical value of the weekday (1 to 7), but not needed to get the weekday name which is just formatting. Thanks for sharing :)) Thumbs up!!
