Prepare mentally what you're gonna say...and then say it. Its a good practice and will help a person to stop fumbling for words.

Hey, thanks for doing a video on this topic! Back when I was just a little boy, someone [at school?] commented about how I hardly ever smiled. It was something I never even noticed. So, over that weekend, I periodically spent time alone in the mirror practicing and perfecting my smile. After about a week or two of practicing in the mirror, everyone started commenting about how *GREAT* of a smile I had. And, even to this day, the most common compliment I get is about my big smile! So, when you mentioned that speaking with confidence is something that we should practice, I was immediately able to relate to that idea. And, looking back on how I practiced, developing my smile was mainly about being self-aware and about relaxing my facial muscles so that they weren't so tense.

Great video Antonio! I loved the reminder to "think before you speak". It reminds me of the idea in a conversation of pausing 3 seconds before speaking. Just a simple pause can add some time to speak with thoughtfulness!  Thanks for your excellent work!

6. Be Sincere. Yeah. A close cousin to don't be arrogant. I've noticed in my own conversation that when I try to speak with confidence, what I sometimes project to others is arrogance.  I have to make a conscious effort to dial it back a bit. I don't mean to be arrogant, but that's what is projected when a person acts a little too confident. It's a subtle, invisible line that I'm trying to be more aware of.

I just came across your page and I'm definitely subscribing. All the mistakes you mention here I make, I'm a terrible listener but even worst when I open my mouth. Is getting to the point where I feel like I'm closing myself in even more. 😳
I'm a woman and I think you are very helpful

Excellent advice! I have noticed in my readings, from declassified documents to transcendentalism period writing that I can speak better because I can build sentences and thoughts at a variety of levels for discussion points.  Sometimes I speak overly eloquent in my verbiage and sentence structure, so also knowing your audience is an important aspect.  I would also point out that in knowing your audience, with knowledge of topics, I can ask questions I know the answer to (of bias or prejudice possibly) to get another angle and suddenly I learn more an listen more intently.
