Time doesn't slow down. Time is relative. It means Time depends on the reference frame of the observer. It doesn't actually slow down.

Einstein never said time was a 4th dimension. He said when plotting a location in space and time (not spacetime) you need XYZ + time. Thus making time the 4th axis (not dimension) of coordinates.

When Einstein told Max Planck that he was going after Newton's theory of gravity, Planck basically told him he was nuts. 10 years later the astronomers proved him right. 100 years later the black holes predicted by his theory are the hottest topic in theoretical physics because they provide our best hope for linking GR and QFT.

If time is a dimension how do you go back? Every spacial dimension has two directions up/down, left/right, forward/backward. How can you move through time like you can move through space where every direction has a negative, like a velocity vector pointing the opposite way?

So tired of people making up some magical "spacetime" as a thing that can bend or be traveled through. Einstein never said spacetime, he said space and time in reference to mapping locations. Space as in XYZ, not space as in outer space.

My theory is that time is a placeholder, not that it does nothing but that it’s everywhere. This theory could be wrong due to the diverse ways a force can manipulate time. Commonly know as gravity. I don’t believe that time is an object dimension such as 1D, 2D and 3D., I think time is just a part of every dimension.
