ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 Review - It's GOOD But....

The 2023 laptops so far have been a bit underwhelming. Incremental upgrades, barely noticeable changes, and in some cases a bit of a downgrade, as seen with the Lenovo Legion chassis.

I just got one. LOVE it! The display is spectacular, and blacks are much deeper than I was expected based on some reviews. With Armoury Crate and different settings, the perceived contrast changes significantly. The full DCI-P3 colours are incredible. Gaming is superb on it- for the games I play, all the Halo games, incl Infinite and Destiny 2. The trackpad feels great to my fingers and I like the feel of the keys. Matte finish and great clarity, colour and contrast make me smile on this. I have zero complaints. Very happy with my purchase.

This chassis is magical, especially in the keyboard and trackpad area. Definitely top of the line ergonomics!
I have the Asus m16 2022 (12900h/3070ti) model and for the price, it is one of the best in 2023.

You can easily get on for $1300-$1400 in the US.

tip: switch to manual power mode and reduce the gpu wattage to keep it relatively quiet while churning.

I was going to mention the lack of a full size sd card reader, but after seeing the processor choice and display color gamut, this is aimed at being a relatively budget (as budget as possible for a 4060 nowadays anyway) gaming laptop. It's not a creator laptop. It's not for me - and that's totally fine :)

I got my 2021 G15(5900hs) with a 3070 for $1150 last July, still happy I picked it up instead of waiting for the 2023 models!

I bought this laptop. Keyboard would randomly not work. After a week of trying drivers, windows reinstalls, regedit etc, I returned it. Seems like a ton of people have had similar issues

Got this model with the 4070 on sale for $1000, loving it. Added a 2tb nvme and 16gb ram for 32gb total and its a beast. Can push the 4070 pretty far from stock easily, +150mhz core and +900mhz memory. Gpu never goes over 65⁰C, and the cpu in turbo mode will just barely touch 95⁰C for literally milliseconds while sitting at 85⁰C 99% of the time under heavy load at 4.88ghz. Very happy with it

Glad you're showing fps of some racing games like Dirt V and F1 2022. Most other reviewers neglect driving/racing games. It's really helpful for people like us who mostly play driving games.

I just bought the GU603zu. The G16 with the i7 12700h / 1tb NVMe / 16gb DDR4 / GTX 4050 / and the 240hz Nebula display. 👌
Super happy with it so far, but it's not even a week old ! 😉 Hoping I have the open RAM slot, I'm afraid to open this thing up ! LoL
