Just ordered one to replace my 3 year old Rog Strix. Got the model with a 4080 and 32g RAM on sale for $2, 349. That's the most I've ever spent on a laptop. Hope I'm not disappointed!!

This seems perfect for me, there’s one on sale on Best Buy for $1500 but it only has an rtx 4070. However I mainly play cpu intensive games like hoi4 and stellaris but I’ve been wanting to get a new laptop that can play some newer games like manor lords. I mainly use my laptop for school and I love how this one doesn’t look like the typical big and bulky gaming laptop.

I went to the service center 2 months after I purchased mine and with just less than a month of use. My laptop was just in constant reboot loop and they had to replace the motherboard. The service guys can’t even pin point what really happened but during my time of use, the laptop is just so hot and I can’t even put it on my lap cause the air is that hot. I reckon it was the heat that cooked the motherboard and now I have a trepidation that it will be an issue again 😢

This is an excellent review! I ended up going for the ROG Strix, because it's 300$ cheaper here in Canada. I use headphones all the time, and have a monitor for when I'm home, so the added value of: premium metal body, OLED display, speakers, slimmer body was not worth 300$ more. I'm grateful you helped me come to that conclusion :)

Near the end of this video, you show a guy using a hand control controller with the computer. Does that controller work on all games?

Does this OLED screen have image retention from static UI elements? I use VS Code for 4–6 hours and play WoW for 2–4 hours daily.

It was between this and the 7i for me. Ended up getting the 7i (32gb ram, i9, and 4070) for $1400 with a free white elite controller. I would have preferred the oled and ryzen on the asus, but I do like the num pad on the side. The closest ausus I could get was $1650 and that was the g14 not 16.
