I don't fully get the point of Level 2 self driving; there's too many nuances that require your attention that simple adaptive cruise with lane centering doesn't seem all that different. I understand why Volvo skipped it and level 3 all together and is focusing strictly on level 4.

These self driving systems probably drive better than most drivers I've seen lately. Even if the self driving runs into a few pedestrians.

Despite all the innovation, Toyota/Lexus use the same warning tone for many levels of danger. My 2021 Camry is equipped with TSS 2.5+ yet I get the same warning tone for crossing the lane without a signal or I'm going to crash into a concrete wall, the same beep beep.

The automatic lane change seems more involved than doing it “manually”, LOL. 99% of the value in these kinds of systems is in the lane keeping and maintaining distance, since that actually helps reduce fatigue. The rest is gimmicks.

Well it's a work in progress but in general this would make a road trip or even stop and go traffic alot easier to digest. Alot of naysayers will automatically appreciate when they use it. Just like when adaptive cruise first hit the market.
