Excellent! Issues resolved in first try. This hidden screw design was a first to me and landed here to figure it out in no time.

Man, you just made me the hero to my partner. Been trying to figure out how to get our loose door handle apart to fix it, finally gave up and searched for a solution, your video came up first and within 1:52 min of your video I get the solution 😁 Getting the rosette off proved a bit more difficult than what it looked like in your video, it was tight, but I eventually got it to snap off and found that all three mounting screws were loose. Tightened those in 30 seconds, put it all back together, and we’re good to go! So thank you for sharing this, I owe you a beer, cheers! 👍🏼💥👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏻

NOTE: Some inside knobs do not have a "press in" catch that's used to release the knob. Mine has a tiny 3/32" hex screw that requires loosening (after which you need to remove the Allen wrench) THEN the knob will slide off effortlessly.

I found this out after an hour or two of looking for a catch like the ones in all these YouTube videos, a catch that requires just pressing in for a 'click' which releases the knob. I have no idea how unusual the hex screw-type catch is, but it is very real. I used it on two door lock mechanisms that were loose and required removal of the inside knob for access to the two main screws for tightening..

Theres a poke hole, but no spring, it just seems to be solid at the end of the poke hole.

How to proceed ?

Just did mine after the outer lever broke off, mine actually was an Allen head that was toast, so I got a drill and it fell apart in no time, I got a bit bigger than the Allen head so it wouldn't just spin on that

IF YOU HAVE A DOOR PRE 1990, the rosette usually have to be twisted off the handle (turned to come off)

What if you can’t get the handle to release no matter what u do or how hard u poke a tool in the hole?

my door knob in my house does not have any holes you can poke anything in what so every, the only thing I can see is a little slot on the face plate around the handle, but I tried with all my strength and that plate will not budge, how do you remove a door knob with no visible holes anywhere and with a face plate around the door handle with no holes nothing to pry it open with?

My doorknob is from 1975. I cannot find the spring release in the hole. The rosette does not turn.
