This guest really shows that budgeting is FAR more important than your income. And it doesn't even need to e "rice and beans, beans and rice" budgeting. Simply having a plan before the month starts.
Also the call to get the bank to get that overdraft removed needs a little passive aggression sometimes. "Man, I love this bank so much... I don't want to have to find a new one for a 35 dollar fee."

I think the annual salary mentality really hurts savings. If I make 120k, I’m going to feel like $3k is not that big of a deal as it is such a small portion of my income. Chinese families mostly speak and think wage in monthly terms, so if I spent $3k on something while making $10k (a month), that $3k is now 30% of my income!

Wild thing is this guy will be subsidized and rewarded for bad behavior. He will get bailed out through bankruptcy. They just passed that good credit people have to pay for lower credit people to get homes. Our system wants this behavior as an excuse to print money.
