Now that I have a good paying career with some spare money, I’m realizing how much shopping is pushed on us through social media. Especially for girls, influencers make it seem normal to never wear the same outfit twice, go out to eat every other day, and always be getting new beauty products and things that just aren’t necessary! It takes a lot of discipline to not give into it. Financially literate people are the ones who don’t look rich from the outside.

A common theme I've noticed across these audits is to never quit a job without another one already started.

This was me at her age. 60 k in cc debt and HELOC account with a mortgage and car payment. I got so sick of living like that and feeling so scared all the time. I got two jobs and became so frugal. Paid it all off and just paid off my mortgage 2 days ago. 100 percent debt free at 41. Thank you God

This dude was so much calmer than he is now... Hahaha. Funny to see him just nervous laughing and the other person just not caring about their life.

I don't even have any debt and watching these videos is inspiring me to get out of debt...

I'm 30 and I have to say this to those younger than me. GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA! You do NOT need an artisan coffee everyday to be happy. Your home does not have to look like the home decor and home reno accounts you follow. You do not need to wear a brand new outfit every single day. Also, you do not need shapeware or 30 makeup products and face serums that costs hundreds of dollars. You do not need home delivery meal services. The world never used to be this way. I've watched a few of these videos already and each of them the person is spending on things we have been conditioned by scrolling to believe that we need. We don't. You don't. Turn it off, it's so depressing and we do not need to prove to an imaginary audience that you're happy when you're not.

I've started to watch all the videos from the first to last to see how Caleb's confidence grows and find the point when he starts yelling at ppl☠

Once I got hit with a credit card bill of 3, 000 USD. I had no idea how to pay it until I looked at my bank statement. So many Uber eats and Doordash. I realized that their fees and tip were 25% of my order. Cooking at home and meal prepping saved me about $250 a month in "wasted expenses."

This was super painful to watch and yet encouraging based on where I am at in my situation. I hope she can get it together. Honestly.

"I know I can't afford to pay any of my debts, but let me go ahead and quit my job just because I don't want to talk to people". I truly do not understand how some of these people think.

This and your other videos hit hard. I'm 34 and just feel like I understood personal finance a couple years ago - and I have a degree in economics and a MASTERS degree in FINANCE. There is 0 personal financial education in our country unless you really seek it out. By the time I reached this point I was treading water for 15 years. Thank you for moving us towards personal financial stability.

A trend I notice is a lot of these people WASTE money on rides services, food delivery, or high car payments with the flimsy excuse that the new car was needed because it is "safe". Caleb Hammer is basically giving them obvious advice. A roommate of mine once told me I was "good at being poor". I'm in my 30's & have never used ride services, other than taxis when I worked as a teen & had no car, refuse to pay for food delivery service since I have a car, and drive a 99 Honda that is plenty safe enough. I eat out maybe one or twice a week but other than that I go grocery shopping at Aldi & if I can't find the item there I go to Walmart. Basically these people live like they are rich when they are not.

One thing I've noticed about social media is that they push this thing where you can just pick up quit a job and move to another state like it's fairly easy. You have to have a plan if you're going to make a big move like that.

I like her personality. She seems to be aware of the problem she just doesn't have a plan to tackle the debt and she has no family support. Her situation is honestly scary. I'll pray for her.

She needs a job, not Uber and door dash, that can be a side job, but she needs a high paying job and career
