❗️Read this before getting a helix piercing ❗️

I’m 13 and I got my helix piercing today, it did hurt (I’d say 4/10) but it’s totally worth it, I got it four hours ago and I can’t feel anything.
So here’s some tips if you’re thinking of getting a helix piercing ~
•DON’T PIERCE YOUR EAR WITH A GUN
Ik some people who didn’t have any problems with it but usually piercing needles cause less trauma, it’s less painful, the healing time will be shorter and the chances of ear getting infected is less.
•Don’t touch or lay on your piercing, it might get infected.
•Clean your piercing at least 3 times a day, I recommend using something (ask your piercer before using anything on your ears) that has spray to avoid touching the piercing.
•It’s okay if it’s red or swollen at first, make sure that it doesn’t last too long.
•It will probably hurt at first, for me that was for like ten seconds after that it felt kinda hot, but that’s expected. As I said I rate the pain like 4/10 but it’s different for everyone.
• U can bathe after few hours of having it but make sure that shampoo, conditioner or whatever you’ll use doesn’t stay on the piercing (I personally wouldn’t bathe for at least one day )
•If you think that smth about your piercing isn’t right, call your piercer.

REMINDER: although I did write this after I did my research and talked to the professionals, make sure to talk to your piercer first.

Edit: it's been about 4-5 months since I got it and everything was going well till I accidentally slept on it and got a bump😭 I use saline solution about three times a day to clean it and it's almost gone💗

I just had my septum and helix done about 3 weeks ago now and I felt nothing apart from how weird it felt like it was going through bone

Personally I rated the piercing a 7/10, it was really painful for me but it didn't bleed a lot at all and looks great, hoping to get my second one after the first is healed

My double helix piercing was the most painful out of all my piercings. Not only was it painful, but it took nearly a year for complete healing. Happy piercings!

In case your scared here’s some tips from a ear pierced girly:
Helix piercings: I have a really l normal pain tolerance and for me I got my helix piercing done and the only part that hurt was puting the piercing in(you shouldn’t bleed a lot with the helix, yet I did, but you most likely won’t). Overall 2/10 on pain.
Double piercing: the one after your lobe piercing is a double, doesn’t hurt at all! Barley bleeds and beautiful.1/10 on pain.
Lobe piercing:literally doesn’t hurt at all whatsoever.0/10 on pain.

I have over 8 piercings including a rook and a conch. For me this one was the most painful because it stung I’d say maybe a 3/10. That being said, it’s the piercing I regret the most. It’s extremely difficult to heal (I’ve had it for over a year) and it develops piercing bumps very easily. While the helix looks cool, I would not get another one. Thats not say that you shouldn’t get one, but just be aware and do your research.

I got my helix pierced when I was like 10 years old because my parents said I could. The pain for me was only like a 2/10 and I don’t know if you like should do it younger or what but it didn’t hurt at all. I’m 15 now and still have it, I love it so much

I have a double helix, they did it with a needle, stings a bit more than a gun for sure but I’m terrified of needles with a low pain tolerance and I was good! You should do it. You got this.❤

The helix is not painful at all. In my opinion. It is thin cartilage and mostly can't even feel it. Super cute. ❤😂😅
