I got mine four days ago and I was surprised at how little it hurt. It was nothing more than a small pinch and no real pain afterwards either. For the first two days I could feel it a little if I focused on it but after that: absolutely nothing! No pain, swelling or irritation. One absolutely cannot tell that it's freshly pierced.
I spray it with saline solution every three hours or so and don't touch it.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay like this and heal without any issues.
I've heard so many horror stories about helix piercings being painful for ages and not healing properly, so here is my - so far - positive report!

I literally loved getting this piercing it just went too smooth and it doesn't have to go through multiple layers of cartilage like a nose ring

EDIT: just got it done it’s the most painful piercing I’ve had but it’s not as painful as i thought it was gonna be I’d give the pain rating a 7/10

I’m 13 and got mine yesterday and I love it! I recommend starting with a stud not a hoop. The pain is not bad at all, like a 3/10. It stings for like 2 seconds then it’s fine after. I bumped it while I was brushing my hair and it hurt for like 5 minutes but not too badly. Also for all the ppl that sleep on there sides, I recommend a neck pillow. Just put it over ur pillow and sleep on it normally and it is comfortable and painless.

Got mine today! Most painful piercing I've ever had, prob like 7 or 8/10 (my conch piercing was nowhere near as bad). So cute though i love it, doesnt hurt at all a few hours later

Getting my first cartilage piercing (helix) after my uni classes tomorrow, I've officially run out of lobe, got 3 lobe piercings, so we're upping the ante! Super excited!

Trust me as a teen who got their helix young, it is not bad at all. Honestly my second lobes hurt more. The only difficult part of helix is sleeping on it and the gentle throb that lasts like an hour after

Quick tips. Y'all need to sleep with a neck pillow. Just put neck pillow on your usual pillow and sleep on it. It doesn't touch your ears. I did conch and snug piercing and sleep like a baby. My ears heal in just 3 days. Works like magic 🪄

got my helix done last week. the piercing itself hurt so bit but it was fine and i was shocked at how easy it was. the healing process has been HELL so far though, it hurts so bad i cant function without a bunch of advil 😭😭

I just got mine done and it was so quick and easy it felt like a vaccine shot but burnt a little. For the pain level I would give it a 2/10 it was a really easy piercing. Although afterwards it does start to hurt a little but it will eventually go away in an hour or so. Anyways I definitely recommend it though it was so worth it and it looks really cute!

I just got it and it feels like… ig like when you fall and get scratched on the concrete, it does burn afterwards to and I was also bleeding a lot but I also have a low pain tolerance like really bad, pain level 1-10 (as a person with a low pain tolerance) 5-7/10, and my piercer said that I was better than most men that come in the shop oh boy was I was shocked 😳

Had mine done and it was nothing more than a pinch but a few days later it was so swollen and puffy and im sure it was infected a little. I had a titanium bar put in and i ended up taking it out. Then a month later re-piercing it with thread and needle instead - yk - the jamaican way. Hasn swollen up at all

helix piercing isn't that bad, I did it myself a few weeks ago and it is honestly less painful than the lobe piercing I did. It went in really smooth however it does get a bit sore for a few weeks so just don't touch it

I’ve had two piercings in my lobes since I was 2 years old.

I got my first cartilage piercing at 15, it closed got it redone at like 25.

Then got my very lower cartilage (almost the tip of the high point of the lobe area )pierced. All of these piercings were with guns.

But today I got the edge part of my ear pierced. Between my upper and lower cartilage piercings. But with this method. Yes it’s quick, but the pain. It hurts way more than the gun.

On a scale, I'd say 3/10 max (4/10 for the lobes for reference)

If you're getting Helix I recommend getting a round back, not a flat one cuz it snags a lot less on your hair
