Anxiety is right! Anxiety is something people cause to cats unintentionally and unknowingly not only environmentally but how they behave with their cats. Please do not ever spank or punish your cat, cats are not dogs, this causes more unwanted behaviors and causes distrust with people.

When cats start having unusual urination, it could be the beginning of a blockage, which is the most horrific thing for a cat to go through or a human for that matter, way worse than childbirth! Get them help immediately.

Also, I've done some research on essential oils. It is said that lavender oil and other essential oils can be bad for a cats liver. That it is best to use Hydrosols in a diffuser if you have cats. The essential oils aren't bad for dogs. Bee Blessed Danny and Rita in TN on Rooster's Ridge

I had a male cat with urinary problems. Used 75% distilled water and 25% Apple Cider Vinegar, the one with the mother. I took a towel, wrapped him so his head was out. Slowly got some in his mouth. If it is a little strong add a little more water. Keep this up until you get a good dropper or half a dropper full down the cat. Do this every 2 hours or at the least 3 x day! YES, it isn't the easiest way but he will be back to normal by the next day! Make sure your litter box is clean too! Bee Blessed Danny and Rita in TN on Rooster's Ridge

That is interesting because I had a friend stay over for three days while her bathroom was renovated and Breeze who never has never done a pre out of her litter box, got on the couch and peed on it in front of us. I couldn't believe it. But she must of been stressed with the new situation.

my cat is female and a few months ago she's been peeing in her litter box with her butt up and it's been getting all over the place. She's never done that before all her life, she's 8 years old and this is the first year that she's done that. I'm worried!

My cat went in and sprayed above the box after I just cleaned the area up when I found urine outside the box. It was like I will show you.

Dear
Veterinary Secrets, I got a little question for you!
So I recently got a little kitten :) a female one, a friend of mine found her on the side of the road, and I decided to come and pick her up! I went to the vet to get a check up and everything was fine! she is about 8 weeks old :) but whe can't fully confirm that since she was dropped on the side of the road :) but the good thing is! She knows how to use the litterbox, she probably learned that from her mother, sooo all things went good but recently she started to pee on my blankets (not always, she still uses her litter box!) sooo, checked online and they adviced me to go to the vet! did that and they told me to collect some pee of her since she is too small for vaccins! I collected the pee, brought it to the vet got the results and all was good! they told me the kitten was healthy and fine! Sooo now my question is... WHY?? does she pee on my bed or blankets from time to time!? The kitten has been here for about 4 days and she isn't scared or stressed! she likes to be cuddled and sleeps well, her tail is always up and when she sees me it kinda vibrates :) soo I think its cuz of exitement!! But do you have any idea why she pees outside of here litterbox from time to time? is it like a kidney problem or anything? since I haven't done a bloodtest cuz she is too small : )

Kind regards Milan!

I have heard that Lavender Eo was not safe for cats. I had been avoiding it. You feel that it is safe though? I would love to try it.

Isn't lavender oil toxic to cats?

I have 1 cat peeing everywhere. On the floor, on towels, blankets, anything. This has been an ongoing problem for months and I can't get help. We have 4 different types of litter boxes. Opened, fully enclosed, top opened, and high sided. We switched to a soft all natural litter. She was checked at the vet, no issues. I'm not sure what to do other than put her outside. She didn't start this until a year ago and there were no changes.

My kitty recently developed himself a UTI. He’s been doing this behavior when he gets in his box to pee, a bit comes out. Then he gets back in and finishes it ten minutes later. Hoping the antibiotics kick it in the butt.
