My cat was four years old when she died. She had this, as well as a bladder stone, (didn’t find out the latter until like a month before her death) we kept giving her medicine but it would always come back.. I wish I saw this before she died….. next month marks the one year anniversary of her death and I miss her so much… my mom didn’t get her surgery because she didn’t think it would help and it was too expensive she said.. I tried telling her things we could do but she never took me seriously and then we lost my cats brother a month later… rest in peace Izzy and Gunner I love you…. My best friends…

Don't give up hope guys. I thought for sure I was going to have to put my 14 year old fur baby down, because they say the surgery is over $3k average( which I do not have).
But let me tell you, your cat may not have "blockage" as I thought mine did.
Turned out to be a urinary tract infection. They gave her a shot of something, and she was better and back to normal in a couple hours.
She was literally trying to pee about every 5 minutes for almost 3 days. After the shot she was happy, content, and slept with me for two days.
Ask about the shot!

My cat has had two UTIs and she bleeds and I prayed over her because I can’t afford to take her to the vet. They’re just way too expensive and they were thinking about euthanizing my kitty and I said no I prayed over her and she’s fine now God is so good Believe and have Faith!

He's right! I put mine on wet food only and I add water to his wet food and have a bladder supplement by thrive and he's doing great! No dry food. He blocked twice at only 1 years old

I fed my cat wet food mixed with dry and added a little water. She lived a very long life. I had surgery right before she died. I felt so lucky cause she kept me company.

I now always put a GOOD splash of mineral water in the wet food at room temperature, it is mixed to a gravy consistency and also a little coconut oil which they really seem to love.

My cat cannot pee. I’m Ukrainian and access to veterinary is difficult here right now and money is hard to have. I gave him antibiotic, I know I shouldn’t have done that but it worked. I gave him Azithromycin. I thought maybe it was infection and it was ok for 2 weeks but now he is blocked. It’s silly for me to write here because nobody can help but i feel so much guilt. I wish blessings for everyone cats in same situation.

I like this video. I cat was recently blocked, had to be catheterized, and now has a UTI. The vets insists that the only way to get him healthy is by feeding him prescription food. Ugh. I’d rather feed him good wet non-UTI food and supplement him with D-Mannose, cranberry, marshmallow root, and a little acv or Bit C.

My cat Lucky had reconstructive surgery after becoming completely blocked and couldn't pee. He was in SEVERE pain! He got blocked 3 times and the third time vet said surgery was necessary. FLUTD is a SCARY, LIFE THREATENING disease! Please do everything you can to increase moisture in your cat's diet!! It's amazing to watch how LITTLE amt of water cats drink when they get it in their food; night n day when fed wet vs dry kibble. They drink A LOT more water when fed kibble!

While it’s more expensive feeding my three cats only wet food I know it’s I. Their best interest long term and for that I will keep on keeping on

FYI: If your cat doesn't like the taste of wet food, try rehydrating it's usual dry kibble with hot water. One cup of dry cat foot to one cup of hot water. Let it sit for a few hours until all the kibble is puffed up with water and cool to the touch. This is also a good way to alternate with wet food to avoid boredom. =)

Very common. There is a brand, I think is from “P” for urinary tract that I have been using for the last 20 years and never had that problem again with my cats. Plenty of fresh water all the time, very important. Thank you and God Bless

Thank god I’ve only been feeding my cat wet food for the past 5 years. My cat drinks water but surely not enough… I wonder what u could put in it to make her want to drink more. Exercise? She’s terrified of the outdoors 🤦🏼‍♀️ She won’t play with toys, she’s just gotten lazy. I keep up with her shots and she uses pretty litter so I know if something’s going on but who knows if that even works. Thank you for all the info 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I took my cat to a vet. They didn’t get a strrile urine sample to confirm inflamation for proper treatment. No ultrasound. They felt her bladder, take her temperature, then said she had slight fever. They gave her Loxicom 0.5mg/ml oral suspension for cats to stop in flammation. They said she got stress because i was away for 1 months. I don’t think this was the case, because my cat was very playful and not affectionate to me usually.Anyway cost me lot’s of money for the vet

Do you have any recommendations for a cat who doesn’t like to drink water from bowls or fountains filled with fresh water? He’s on a canned food only diet. I began giving him HydraCare supplements but he’s not always interested which leads to wasted packets. He doesn’t like bone broth and seems turned off if I just add water to his food.

His urinary behavior has always been odd — rapid-fire starting and stopping during a full emptying. No howling or signs of distress. No frequent trips. Multiple test results come back normal over several years. Vets say it’s just behavioral but I’m not buying it anymore.

Most if not all dry foods/kibble is bad for your pets. Even the more expensive stuff with “better ingredients “ is crap. Better off using cheaper canned foods than high quality dry stuff. Causes struvite crystals in the bladder that makes male cats pee blood. My cat was given steroids and antibiotics which didn’t work, because its not a bacterial infection. Its a “still UTI” bladder is inflamed. Diluted raw ACV helps but have to get them off the dry food. $800 dollars later and the vet wanted me to go on prescription food which is expensive and has horrible ingredients. The secret to that food is that it has an acid that breaks down the crystals but its in no way healthy for your cat. Im sure it will cause other health issues down the line. But a patient cured is a patient lost. Spent $800 to be told its caused by stress. Its the food. Not stress

what is frustrating is that I never have given my cat dry food she has always been on wet food and she is coming off her second time of bloody painful urinations. The vet told me it was likely a UTI but I suspect it’s some thing underlying causing FLUTD. Is there any benefit to the canned foods like purina urinary wet food? seems it’s about the same ingredients as the canned food I already give her just with added water but I already add water to her wet food. I also give her one capsule of salmon oil and a pre-and probiotic blend and I started giving her the pet well-being urinary gold supplement in her food as well. Not sure what else I can do?

I treated my cat using this human medication : Amoxicillin 250mg/5mL. It comes as a small bottle with powder that you need to mix with water according to the instructions provided with the medication.

My cat was experiencing a blockage and could only pass two drops at most. He kept running back and forth between his two litter boxes, at least 10 times within 5 minutes.

I gave him this Amoxicillin treatment for a week, but by the fourth day, he already seemed completely cured.

In addition to the Amoxicillin, I applied one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the sides of his abdomen daily for a week. I didn’t dilute it because he refused to take it by syringe. However, if your pet accepts it, you can give it directly with a syringe—just one teaspoon mixed with one teaspoon of water should be enough.

Also, very importantly: I completely stopped giving him kibble for 10 days!

Now my cat is healed, and it’s been more than a year and a half without any recurrence of this problem. I’ve resumed giving him kibble, but no more than a small bowl per day, and I carefully monitor his water intake. If I feel he isn’t drinking enough, I give him foods like cucumbers, watermelon, or melon, which are high in water content. If he refuses those, I force-feed him a mixture of coconut water and honey using a syringe. Occasionally, I also rub a bit of apple cider vinegar on his fur to encourage him to lick it off.

This issue can come back, so be cautious and avoid repeating past mistakes.

The dosage is 5 to 12 mg per pound (10 to 25 mg per kilogram) per dose, administered 2 times a day for 7 days.

My cat, Kuro, weighed 4.5 kg (10 lb), so the appropriate dose for him was 50 to 120 mg per dose.

For Amoxicillin 250mg/5mL, 1 mL equals 50 mg.

I gave Kuro 1.5 mL per dose (75 mg), 2 times a day for 7 days and he was completely healed the 4th day.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if it works for your cat, and if it does, I encourage you to share this information online to help other pets and their owners. I plan to share this message on other YouTube videos about this topic as well.

I still remember how devastated I felt when I discovered my cat had this issue. Watching videos of how vets treat it made me cry so much.
