If you mean the complex conjugate is e^(-ipi/4) then e^(ipi/4) multiplied by e^(-ipi/4) will give e^0 = 1

what if we had an exponential like e^(ipi/4) will that make e^(-ipi/4) ?? and will they cancel each other out as well ???

No, I assume you are talking about 5i multiplied by -5i? -5 multiplied with 5 gives -25 but i^2 gives -1 so -25 multiplied by -1 gives 25.

I suppose its ok to use x+iy for Z and for bar Z x-iy?
