All these videos of the 80's music are making me nostalgic.

La Isla Bonita translates to The beautiful Island. The places seems to be a made-up location for the song, the closest there is, is a San Pedro Island in Belize, but Madonna is wearing a dress clearly inspired by Spanish flamenco, not by Caribbean heritage, but the dancing on the streets with other people wearing informal clothes or no shirt, those are typical of the warm Caribbean weather, so who knows, maybe she is trying to represent a Spanish lady dancing in her vacation in Belize.

Not the biggest Madonna fan out there but "Dress You Up", "Into the Groove" and "Who's That Girl" are pretty good. Very 80's also.

I live in a small town on the beach in Mexico and can tell you it’s very relaxing on the weekends dining and listening to music right on the water. Just about every month is a celebration of something but my favorite is the pageantry for the dis de muerte( the day of the dead)

"La Isla Bonita" roughly translated means "the beautiful island"- referring to the island in the song, San Pedro (actual name of the fictional island).

Madonna is the QUEEN of world pop music. "La Isla Bonita" means "The Cute Island". As you probably know, Madonna (Louise Veronica Ciccone) has Italian roots. Italian and Spanish people are very similar for many things: lenguage, culture, history, catholic faith, Latin soul ... Is natural to find Italian people who love Spanish culture or Spanish people who loves Italian one...

Great reaction Irina! Wish I was on Instagram to see you dance. Like the red dress Madonna is wearing? Would love to see you dance in it. Better than Madonna I think. BTW Madonna is from Michigan and of Italian descent. Looking forward to tomorrow's reaction video. Хорошо. Спасибо большое.

This song was made in honor of Madonna’s boyfriend or husband or boyfriend, I forget which. It was made because of his Puerto Rican heritage as they speak Spanish and it’s so different from the other types of Spanish culture that’s in the states. Cubans culture tends to make them very serious towards work while partying like crazy when off work, Mexicans are great with their hands often in construction type businesses or trying to earn something higher, Brazilians tend to have attitudes of doing something later and never getting to it, Puerto Ricans grew up with American sensibilities so are connected to it, and it just goes on and on. You just learn to spot this stuff in a crowd by both watching and listening as they carry conversations as attitudes in how they speak and act can tell you.

Back then, the mid '80s, I always confused this song to be from Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine. 😂
