In this cooking video, we show you how to make the perfect pork stew. Despite not being well known internationally, pork stew or pork "pörkölt" is one of the most popular dishes in Hungarian cuisine. It is basically a pork stew, usually made from pork shoulder or leg, with lots of Hungarian paprika and onions. The gravy is formed by cooking chopped onions, yellow pepper, tomato, and meat slowly with paprika.

Ingredients:
- 500 g of pork shoulder or leg
- 2 medium onion
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 1 yellow wax pepper
- 1 tomato
- salt, pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground caraway
- 2 tbsp quality paprika
- water or stock

My grandmother was such a master cook when she was alive. Unfortunately, I never really appreciated her cooking fully while she was still around - it didn't help that I grew up in Sweden while she was still living in Hungary. I wish I had taken the time to learn more from her when I had the opportunity, but there's nothing to do about it now.
I found your channel during covid when I decided to finally try to teach myself how to cook like my grandmother. Pörkölt is one of those recipes I remember from my childhood so I will definitely give this a try.
Can I make a suggestion? My grandmother used to make this kind of pea soup with carrots, onions and semolina dumplings. It was delicious and I would love to make it again but I have some trouble finding the recipe for it. It doesn't help that I don't know the name for it in Hungarian either. The soup itself is red in color, I'm guessing from paprika. If you want to make a video for it, it would be awesome. :)
