I have a friend who is an IT and logistics pro. Our friend group used to play a lot of modded Minecraft, and he was the AE2 guy. The first thing he always went for was getting an ME system running. So, he naturally took organizational responsibilities and would always have conniptions when we'd (purposefully) throw things all willy-nilly in random boxes for him to organize.
It was funny until I became the cleaning lady when we started playing Terraria. 🙃

In modded, I mostly remember Soaryn chests... Random chests with anything anywhere that wasn't part of what was currently being done, just plonked down and inventory emptied into it

That is Pearl's storage system and not Gem's. Easy to update the thumbnail though :)?

I have a similar system, but using miniblocks and mob heads instead signs. If something takes up too much, then shulkers.
