1. Goats will ram any mob, even sometimes the player.
2. In old versions while yes the creepers had a melee attack, they would blow up on death instead of fin close proximity to the player

(No those conditions are not playing an old version of minecraft)

1. Goats do it to any mob, including the player.
2. I'm pretty sure any mob acted like this. They just didn't explode like him.
3. "They used to be even creepier" I don't see how smiling, being friendly and exploding into flowers can be creepy. It was also a whole update, so they didn't have to "tell" us about it (even though they probably did in the changelogs [if it even had any, somebody cmiiw]).
4. Yeah aside from everybody already knowing this, notch did tell us about it, so technically Mojang did tell us about it.
5. This is likely the only valid number, though they'd still explode when killed.
