This is a fixed point, meaning it must happen. But what we see at the resolution is that the way it happened doesn't have to be how everyone THINKS it happened. Clara "dying" was also a fixed point, but why can't they use the same idea to save Clara? Create a duplicate, let the duplicate die, and the real Clara is still alive and well.
