"There's not enough misery" is not how I'd ever imagine hearing caelid described

6:20 "wonder if that giant tree in the background has any significance in the game" had me burst out laughing xD

For those people who are wondering, this is why Elden Ring is nominated for best art direction and it would probably win.

7:43 That is Gransax, son of the dragonlord Placidusax. He is physically the largest dragon model in the game, Greyoll of the Dragonbarrow is the largest, living, dragon. He is an ancient dragon from Farum Azula, and his attack on Leyndell signaled the start of the war against the dragons. It is historically the only time the walls of Leyndell had fallen, and even after they defeated him they had to rebuild everything around his corpse because he was simply too large to be removed.

i love that no matter how many times the viewers told you guys to get rid of those damn bulky helmets that cover 60 percent of the screen like Radahn´s, you still had to put something bulky and distracting on top of your character.

They actually got it right about the gold layering in stormveil castle! When Godrick took over the castle he decided to have more gold added onto the walls because he was from leyndell and big on the whole gold thing.

this is super interesting not only for the comments on architecture, but also the comparing of the glintstone crown to the burger king, which gives me an idea for a build, and also wondering and appreciating other things in the game like the Erdtree, the dragon, the moon etc

Please have them react to Kingdom Come: Deliverance architecture. I think they would find it to be impressive

It’s funny cuz from a programming standpoint, it’s just “I want wall here” *repeats textures*

The windmill village with all the laughing ladies is based on the dancing plague that happened in 1518 very interesting that they added it in the game 😊😊

In a game where you find out your goal is to kill god and decide the next stage of humanity's evolution, "post-modern Gothic" seems pretty fitting

“This is a new problem when your building starts walking away from you”😂😂🤣

Their interpretations and critiques are surface level at best. I think having an expert who also understands the game would make it more interesting.

This video is great, just two architects chilling and having a good time talking about some buildings in a game and just chatting in general lmao

I feel like these vids should have a “game expert” on call, someone who’s familiar with the lore that can help explain some things. For example, early on they just kinda wonder idly about “the weird texture” on a wall affected by the scarlet rot.

I think it’s cool that architects are basically also historians. Whenever I hear experts criticizing, I roll my eyes . Then I remember that I do the same thing about the subject I got my degree in. I guess those fields of our passion and expertise change the way we see the world and such a change cannot be unseen.

Not being spoiled with Elden Ring is an excercise in itself 🧠

There's 2 types of architects. There's ones who embrace fantasy and those that don't. These ones don't.

I hate when people claim to not be a fan of fantasy but "they've seen game of thrones".

Also the events of game of thrones are all based on history of the British isles smashed into one story.
She was correct about the Romans, but the war of the 5 kings is based on the war of the roses, even down to the colours used, the red rose of Lancastrians and white+blue rose of the yorkists
