But, imagine just climbing a mountain in your world and just looking out on the rest of the world around you. 😃 That would be amazing!

Imagine how incredibly powerful a PC you would have to have to be able to play with at least 30K chunk rendering in real time!

I wonder how people with an infinite rendering would react to the blindness effect.

Now you would really need a beefy pc for that!

Now I'm just imagining my Minecraft character being surrounded by mountains tens of thousands of blocks away.

The world of 4:19 is actually the arma 2 map Chernarus (popularized by dayz) rendered in minecraft. It's the bottom left corner of the map. You can see the 2 major cities on the coast on the left, or at least the harbors and streets.

Minecraft could do that realtime if each block past your draw distance (for example: 22) was given 1 average color for the whole block instead of 256 pixels x 3 visible sides.

I wonder if anyone has done the math... if you created a world with a max above sea level of 8848 meters (Mt. Everest) and had it the same size as earth and made you stand somewhere on the ground, and if the world had curvature... how many chunks would your maximum view be before the view receded over the horizon. (The next step would be from altitude above the earth, where on an Earth sized world the answer would be 'half')
