I do not see a problem with either of these books. I would definitely use them over the alternatives.

As far as Exodus Commentaries are concerned...I was skeptical of Douglas Stuart's commentary and the rave reviews it received. I was wrong! It is excellent. And he makes some powerful comments which literally "thrilled my soul." Highly recommend Stuart's book.

I would like to see a review about the Smyth and Helwys series.

Hi Thanks for your videos, they've really helped me on making some choices. I'm not sure where I stand with Exodus yet, is there any chance you may be able to do a video on Desmond Alexander's commentary for the Apollos series.

I'm not looking to read a commentary that confirms every one of my beliefs it is nice to have confirmation at times however I like to know multiple opinions and options on any given topic

I'm pretty conservative and I have Enns' commentary. I don't expect to agree with anyone 100% when I read them. That said, I have several Exodus commentaries and the NIVAC isn't as helpful as some others like Wright and Hamilton. Stuart in the NAC is great too.

I’m not sure I have any authors on my shelf I agree with 100% across the board. There are some that are close like David Jeremiah or John MacArthur (except I am not a Calvinist) and also some Traditional Baptist authors. I do not expect to agree entirely with someone on every minutiae. I do though expect anyone I choose to read (concerning faith and theology) to be a true believer and accept the essentials of the faith. One of those essentials is a trust in the accuracy and truth of the Scriptures. I find I doubt many of the so-called “critical Scholars” claim to be believers, and I have used some of their volumes to heat my house via my fireplace rather than pass it on.

I am more surprised that Westminster stood up for inerrancy than I am that one of their people denied it. The same would hold true for Oxford or Cambridge. These institutions are now magnets for liberal, critical “scholars” who are often barely Christian (if at all).

Thanks for the review. Wouldn't it be fair to say that when Enns wrote 'Inspiration and Incarnation' he still said that he affirmed inerrancy (much like Kenton Spark), even if he redefined the term?

Childs' Isaiah commentary has some very good material for the 'discerning' pastor.

What if, you could read someone's point of view and just wrestle with the material like a reasonable person? 😂
