I think not everybody noticed here that the 13700K is limited here to 4 Cores and similar clocks speeds

Was surprised to see such a small difference and then I remembered the thumbnail showed that the 13700K has been restricted to the 4 core 8 threads configuration @ 4GHz same as the i7 870, so this really is a showcase of the IPC improvement between 2009 and 2022, which is still kinda....disappointing

Had to double check the thumbnail and description. The reason why the 13700K is not performing as it should is because it's set to 4 cores/8 threads. As hardly anyone is looking at the description these days it should be put in the title.

Back in November 2009 it was my first pc with i7-870 and gtx 260. What a nostalgia when i was playing cod mw2, cod 4 mw, gta san andreas, generals zero hour and More.

75% energy saving and almost twice fps... Underclock, undercore, undertread... And power scaling make 12/13th gen very interesting... 😊😊😊

Interesting IPC comparison. The video really should make it clearer that you kneecapped the 13700k, though. I missed the thumbnail the first time around, and judging by the comments here, I'm not the only one. Viewers may come away with the idea that CPU upgrades are completely pointless.

Very nice comparison! In this video can see different of IPC with same frequency, perfect test. Love this! It's more then 50% in some cases

Who would've thought back in 2009 that the i7 870 would be able to still utilize 30 to 50% of ths highest end video card nearly a decade and half later.
I wonder if the 13700k will be as capable in 2037.

Love the IPC test! 4G vs 4G, then vs now! So the IPC gain looks to be about 70%-80% better, core counts not withstanding (as not factored in).

Gaming at 1440 may narrow the results, no?!

This is why I'll stick with my 5900X and 7900XTX for some time. Especially given I love the color, responsiveness and brightness of my display/s.

Seems the cpu is not the only limitation, pci bus and ram speed i guess

Interesting, but i would like to see ram speeds more equalized. 1800 mhz ddr3 is pretty fast most people had 1600mhz. The 13700k is using the slowest ddr5 ram available. atleast use 6000 or 6400 or something which seems to be more mainstream while affordable.

Even though the 13700k was handicapped to match the older i7 870 in core count and clocks speed, the IPC gained from 2009 to 2022 is quite underwhelming.

This made miss my old i7-960 that was handed down to me which finally had to retire last year due to its motherboard dying.

why nerf the 13700k? without clearly showning you did that?
this will bring huge misunderstandings

I was using g4560 for 4years then I have recently upgraded to ryzen 5 3600 with 1660s happy with it
Suprising seeing that 1st gen i7 performing not bad lol 🤣

Put it in the title that you deliberately limited the performance of the 13700K by disabling cores and capping the clock.

shouldve mentioned that the 13700k got nerfed in the video instead of just putting it in the thumbnail

Explain the testing methodology next time at the start of the video please.
