Hi guys, I finally took the risk of updating my fat base ps4 to 9.00, I was waiting for a long time on previous firmware.
Luckily, I got no errors or issues after the update, its been 3-4 days now.
All I did before updating was :
i.) I made a backup of all my important game saves on a USB stick.
ii.) After the update I immediately rebuild database.

My point in putting this comment is, there is still hope if you're willing to take risk.

9.00 is freezing your PS4 and technically breaking games like gta or war zone. And cutscenes are breaking in some story mode games.

Commented on the other video about my bricked PS4 slim. I had already paid for the repair and sent it off when you had other updates. But I just got a notification that my system is already being returned (notice came the same week the system was received). That could mean 1 of 2 things. 1) I'm an idiot and didn't do the USB reinitialize thing correctly or 2) The system was so messed up they just sent me a refurbished console. We'll see which is correct when it arrives. Still sucks I had to pay THEM to fix THEIR mistake.

Any news on this? I haven’t been able to play my PS4 for weeks. I tried everything my update gets to 1 second left stays there for a couple seconds then I get an error code same for when I try copy the update using usb. Even tried wiping the PS4 still doesnt work. And even worse I’m the only one out of all my friends that has this problem. I thought they would’ve done something by now I look everyday

Update: Last night, i backed up my saves on a USB stick formated to exFAT32, it seems that PS4 has issues with FAT32 USB sticks. So, i downloaded the 9.00 update on my phone then transfered it to my little laptop, formated to EXFAT32, created 2 folders PS4>UPDATE and copied the update file in the update folder. I was so nervous but the update installed with no issues and my PS4 is running even better than before. I did it in safe mode choosing update with USB. Another thing, when copying your save data progress to USB stick you might get some that says it can't be copied, don't worry, those that didn't copy just do it one by one and it will copy them. I chose copy all then the left overs, did it one by one. Hope this helps. In on PS4 slim, I've read that most people who updated their PS4 using the internet through the system, was expierencing the issues with the update. SO, UPDATE THROUGH SAFE MODE.

i took the risk yesterday and updated my ps4 pro. No problems until now. I used the recovery mode and usb for the update (with no disk inside the console). Theres still rope. My ps4 pro doesnt recognize the lan cable internet, i dont know why.

Got a question, is it possible for Sony to actually fix a current update that's rolling with out us knowing about it? I was digging deep into this update and found that people who updated their PS4 using the internet through the system itself, were the ones having these issues with the update and the people i spoked with, recommend that from know on, just download updates on PC then going through the steps on PC with the USB stick formated to exFAT32 not FAT32. It seems that PS4 has trouble with FAT32 USB sticks.

Yea but for people who live outside the us how can we send our ps4 to sony
