20 cycle lifespan (analog four)

I replayed Rain World to prepare myself for the newly released Downpour expansion, and decided to play as the unlockable new character you get after beating the original game. He's a cute slugcat like the other two playable characters, but he runs faster, jumps higher, throws spears harder, and needs more food to sustain himself. Fortunately, he can eat big creatures. All it cost him is a shortened lifespan of only 20 cycles.

All audio is coming from the Analog Four, recorded in one take and with no overdubs, then used the following plugins in post:
MJUC (compressor and drive)
Phoenix (preamp sim)
Maximus (Multiband expander I use as an EQ)
SlickEQ (equalizer for the highest highs)
ToTape6 (tape sim)
Limiter6 (using the clipper and limiter modules)

Thanks for watching!

Omg. Amazing sound. I deciding between syntakt and A4 with octatrack. Syntakt is more allround and quicker in my opinion but palette of sounds of this is sure a lot more bigger...

This views like a masters thesis performance on the A4. Very nice work, Ivar.

Darn that is punchy. And those whiny background fx supplementing for your classic lead melody. Very raw. Loved it.

Love the dark vibe of this, at least that’s what I get from it. I get that vibe from most of your music.
Keep it up

I can really feel that imperative to keep moving, keep fighting. The track makes it feel like any rest would be dangerous.

I just obsessed over Rain World and was halfway through a video explaining the new characters. Then I somehow drifted off to this video. I thought either YouTube or I was having a stroke when I read the top part of the description xD But I am happy to hear other people also take such huge inspiration from the game :)

Just got one of these - can’t believe I got the Syntakt before I got this! Need time to sort of … explore .. so much to explore

Menacing as fuck! Reminded of the Hotline Miami soundtrack, although your track is way heavier. Great great stuff, keep it going

Wow, those creepy background textures/tones really told a powerful story. This would fit nicely in a running/escape scene of a zombie movie or game. Have you considered making music for video games? Well done!

Really great sounding machine...with all those additional efx ...🙃. Just kidding. You can get the A4 to sound this gritty and growly without the extra fx .
