Now if we could get this to more cities. You can bet the car, gas, airline lobbyist would be in full force to stop it. We need more options even if they are not high speed. Love to be able to take a train down to California from AZ .

This is so exciting but that seems a little long for the trip, right? Can't wait for San Antonio to Houston to Dallas to San Antonio.

PLEASE STOP CALLING TRAINS THAT GO LESS THAN 155 MPH HIGH SPEED RAIL. IT'S NOT!!!

That being said, Im completely supportive of what Brightline is doing in rhe USA. I hope there new proposed project between Vegas and SoCal becomes reality.

Huge progress for the USA, well done American! But compared to European, Japanese an and Chinese high speed train standard, which average above 300km, lots of need to catch up.

It's a joke.... Ask what it costs no one rides it....

we should call this higher speed train instead of high-speed train. there is conceptual difference between these two. The engineering challenges are not even comparable. Like our so called 5G network, 5G spots would be more appropriate per my experience in the Bay area. We are so behind on these key infrastructures, sadly

This is not high speed, it’s not electrified, it’s not double tracked, and it’s not even grade separated

So happy to hear that. Please make sure it will meet European standards . Look at Pendolino in Poland . Luxury and pleasure in one package, still affordable . Bravo Florida .

I hear they want a stop at Disneyland. That’s sure to boost ridership through the roof!

Wouldn't really call Brightline the "safer" option given all the crossing accidents they seem to have (in fact, one just one the same day the Orlando service started). Humans will always try to cheat death. Brightline should have gotten rid of all those crossings.

I think what people fail to see in this is that this is just the start of something greater in the future for transportation. Seeing the people thinking that it is blasphemous for the time to travel is about the same as a flight or a car ride doesn't see the bigger picture.

Cars have to deal with actual manual travel with the addition of potential delays with crashes on the interstate or large congestions, and even just the potential of the car needing gas or a break in between travel.

Traveling by plane is similar in travel time despite the travel time difference, you have to obviously account for a numerous amount of factors including TSA Security, arriving at the airport two hours prior per domestic flights, boarding AND deplaning after. You can buy a low-cost flight like Spirit or Frontier, but those obviously comes with added fees with those carriers.

So in the end, whichever you prefer in forms of travel, Brightline's 125 mph rides from ORL to MIA feels refreshing and can be improved upon in the years to come. Moreover, true high speed rail is possible on the west coast, and I do hope with this addition now, the allure of high speed rail can be expanded upon elsewhere.

I’ve lived right down the street from Brightline tracks for the past five years. I see the trains close up, day and night, when the inside lights are on, and hardly ever see any passengers on the train.
