I've been there Pete "paralysis through analysis" nearly gave up because I didn't know what I was doing over the ball or where it would go. Then thankfully Liam came out with the channel, I saw Pat and it cured me. One practice swing, step into the ball and hit. Doesn't give you time to think. Your cure is definitely close to home. Keep going Pete - it's all in the head. I was doing Sports Science at University mid 1990s, and in my first Sports Psychology lecture it was still in its infancy. Our lecturer who was working with a few European Tour golfers opened the course with - 'When anyone asks you why sports psychology is important think about this ... a a pro golfer takes 72 shots a round, and the mechanics of the swing itself is, lets say 1.5 seconds. 1.5 x 72 is 108 seconds - less than 2 minutes. A round takes generously 4 hours; 240 minutes. What are you doing the rest of the time? Thinking and stuck in your own head!' Keep working at it Pete!

Don't keep beating yourself up pete !! As a seasoned golfer I know it's nice having the newest shiniest golf clubs but I'd go for something like graphite shafts and big cavity back heads I think it will help you incredibly.

Love Pete on the channel. We have all had our struggles. Just get back to enjoying the game. Due to a back condition, I have had to adjust my game. Play within myself, take one more club, limited rotation, etc. To my surprise, I took 4 shots off my handicap last year. Short game is the key.

Come on Pete. I am similar age with similar handicap. I thought about getting new irons and tried the Callaways. Ended up with a full set of hybrids from Eleven golf. Easy to hit, love them. Handicap going down.
