It’s interesting to note 2 things:
1 the dad did NOT beg the son to stay. He knew that doing so would not have been successful. When one has made up their mind to leave...let them go. He was prepared to never see his son alive again. That is HARD.
2. The dad did NOT send a search party or a well being search party. As much as he was hurt, he stayed BACK.
The son however came back to his sense and returned to his dad.... begging to be taken as one of his dad’s hired hand.
The dad overjoyed threw a welcome party. This son of mine was DEAD but now he is ALIVE.
Learn from this. God does not play games.
