The watercolour markers are good for travel. You can colour them on a palette and then use them as watercolour paint with a brush and water. And the acrylic markers I use on canvases or acrylic paper.

I agree that Etchr is overpriced and just ok at best. Especially in 🇨🇦 dollars!

dont give up on your wc markers. just like all things. the paper is the most important part. the paper needs sizing so that it does not auto absorbed into the fibers of the paper. use some cotton wc paper hot press and see how you go x

Fountain pens with normal ink, can be used with watercolour, but you need to paint first, then ink.

I love your honesty! While we all have our own personal quirks and preferences, its awesome to hear you say something sucks! Gives me fair warning. I struggled with Lamy Safari too, and so many people rave about them?

Just as an FYI - with fountain pens, the waterproof Platinum Carbon Black is available in cartridges, for a great no-fuss drawing experience.

I like having a Preppy in my art kit, with a back up cartridge just in case I run out of ink. It's wicked convenient.

I usually use Sakura micron fine liners to ink a water color drawing! I have heard it’s better to use dip pens not fountain pens with water proof ink because waterproof ink can clog up the pen, but it takes a while to get used to dip pens… at least I still make a mess when trying to use dip pens

❤4:44 wow I LOVE your patterns series!- not just individually but being able to glimpse them all in relation to each other! Is there a flipthrough post or something I can see?

The water color sticks work wonders on better paper n they r much cheaper than the tubes or half pans

I have a couple of etchr sketchbooks and they are so expensive that I’m so reluctant to touch them… luckily they were gifts but that makes it even harder…

Love my Lamy…use it with fine nib and water soluble sepia ink. My fude pen though I'm struggling with. It seems to clog up after a few strokes and I'm forever rinsing it out with no effect other than wasting expensive permanent ink supposedly suitable for fountain pens.

I bought a single tube of Art Spectrum watercolour. Then I read the fine print - do not use in pans! 😂😂

My regrets: lots of kids grade supplies. I don’t want to waste money and toss it, but no one needs half-used kids supplies - not even kids. They deserve better 😅

Maybe a tip for filling your fountain pens: I use a cheap blunt syringe and refill the cartridges with waterproof ink. I don’t really like the converters either, but love my fountain pens. Although still figuring out how to mix them with all the other stuff I love😂

Regrets: watercolor pencils, oil pastels, Stilman and Birn sketchbooks (for me anyway, they are overrated. )Thanks for the fun video!

That dagger brush looks beautiful. I have also found fountain pens to be troublesome, as pretty as they are!

I think the only thing I have actually regretting buying was tombow markers. It takes up more space and is less versatile than watercolor! What was I thinking?!

Interesting to see what doesn't work for others works great for me 😅 but seriously about the copic multiliner, I didn't use mine in year because I preferred to use a brush pen, and when I came back to them they still work amazingly as they were new!

I love your comments on the screen- some are funny, some useful. Good video. Edit: I’m too new to art to have any regrets (regerts?) yet. I expect I will. I absolutely love the art you showed in the sketchbooks you hated.

The watercolour markers work fantastic on Blockingford watercolour paper.

I regret buying the cheap watercolor markers that I bought every curated set of only to find out that they are waterbased and have color but they are so not watercolor markers. Haven’t found a single watercolor paper or other sketchbooks that will make them act a teeny tiny bit like watercolor. I even fell into that same trap when their packaging changed. Also regret buying some cheap ecoline type watercolor bottles or how do you call those. The color payout isn’t all that interesting and they bleed on some papers
