Actually the reason the other father gave Coraline the soul willingly was because he’s a good guy.If you listen closely to him during that scene he is saying “I don’t want to fight you” and “the other mother made me do it” and then he gives her the soul.

Heres a theory for the pumpkin: What if the pumpkin was one of the men she manipluted when she was beautiful back then? and she has him under control because shes doing what she did to him back then?? (This is my opion also love your coraline theory vids!)

Lol before u mentioned it i recognised the stone from the movie "Spiderwick", in the movie they use the stone also against creatures like fairies, i searched up seeing stone and what came up was "... a stone used to see the invisble world populated by FAIRIES"
I think its a really good theory and i love it

she turned the dad from a pumpkin to the dad with the sand that she stuffs inside of the dolls and jumping mice, he didn’t even want to hurt coraline which is why he proceeded to yell “I’m sorry, mother’s making me” when he gave coraline the eye of the first child. Also, the other mother from what I know is a soulless creature, which is why she literally doesn’t even have eyes, our eyes are basically portals to our soul, and when she “takes the eyes” from the children she’s taking their souls

Theory of my own:

Cats for a long time have been Associated with magic and luck and even witches. So the cat would obviously be connected to magic 🪄 and maybe even fairy’s... we know that he survived the bell dam when coraline threw him it her, so maybe since he want a fairy but possessed magic, the bell dam can’t hurt him or have control over him because he was a “witches assistant” and fairy’s and witches ar e two powerful types of magic. Now this may not make sense because if fairy’s can attack humans why not witches? Well it’s because witches know how to control fairy’s. And they can find ways to trick the tricksters. So she can’t hurt the cat because he is associated with a witch and that witch can easily control the bell dam if it wanted to. But it doesn’t, because the witch and the bell dam made a deal, we know most witches eat children (at least in folk tales) so also g as the bell dam respects the cat and witch enough, the witch will have mercy. But if the witch gets hungry and the bell dam is taking the children you may wonder: “why does the witch let the bell dam have the children? If the witch needs to eat?” Well the souls of the children and just souls! And the bodies are detached. So maybe the bell dam gives the witch the bodies of the children to eat.

Okay so almost all of them are fairies but I think we need to learn that what if Coralines parents are also fairies cause a lot of portions of the movie have her parents gone but they could be going in the well to the other world and working for the beldam

I just thought of something, after watching this:

What if the cat isn't a fairy, but one of those animal guardian deities, that protect children from certain dangers? It could be why he was helping her out.

I think Mr. Bobinski is not working for the Beldam. Here's my theory: he was in the army like you said and the radiation messed with his head, the rats are made from that radioactive sand and thats why he can hear them talk, they have a connection.
Or im just stupid 😅

I have a theory too! Idk if you went over this already, but I think the other mother created the other father out of a pumpkin! Now I don't have much proof but like you said fairys have magical abilities one of them should be to create. But of course, you need a base to start off. So she used a pumpkin to create and use as a base. (Lots of the word "base" 😀🤔) So that's when she created coralines father "the other father" And gave him life.

Bugs are symbolism her dad rides a bug in the other world even her she’s a spider which symbolizes creation and beauty in her normal form she’s beautiful yet she can create anything in that world as well as shape shift herself into what she desires.
