The Surprising Benefits of Doing 100s of Push Ups (And Variations)

It's time to discuss my favourite exercise: the push up! In this video, I'll explain why push ups are such a fantastic exercise, and why doing high repetitions of them can offer even more benefits.

I'm also going to present a slightly different perspective on the best way to do push ups. In particular: using a partial range of motion CAN have benefits. That's not to say that you shouldn't also be able to do a controlled push up with full ROM; simply that there are benefits to both approaches.

Your chest isn’t your best aesthetic asset. It’s your smile 😊

I started more than a year ago with one push-up a day for a week, and added one each week. Next week I can do 80, it was one of the best Idea and habit's I have ever started. I had a lot of shoulder issues but almost all are gone

honestly the quality of the footage improved a lot. The color grading is phenomenal and the cuts/B-roll etc is top notch!

I did over 100 pushups a day for over a year straight. That fixed my posture, made me much stronger, and even though I was already confident, it made me so much more

I look at it like this, calisthenics helped build some of the most elite warriors in human history, no need to fix what isnt broken. Rep it out

After not doing them for about 10 years I started adding them back about 3 weeks ago . My biggest issue was my ego. I'm 57 and prone to shoulder injuries so I swallowed my pride and started by doing them on my knees for the first week, then slowly added in full ones. Now I'm doing sets of 15 with no injuries so far. I do shorten my movement just a bit because in the past that when I got hurt

We used to do 460 pushups on "muscle failure day" in preparations for the PT test. We did ladders, we did piston pushups, we did close and we did wide. I noticed an overall improvement in total body strength, core and my run times were faster. I forgot the fist pushups, our hands also toughened up and our puches were harder. Pushups are fantastic and can be done anywhere at anytime.

7:07 I felt a little offended when he called mitochondria "energy factories of cells" instead of "powerhouse of cells".

Push-ups for life! And they should never get too easy that you can easily do 50+. There's far too many variations to settle for that! Start doing hand-stand push ups, planche push-ups, vary the angle and speed. It's crazy how a single basic movement possesses nearly infinite potential for growth.

You are my favourite inspirational workout dude. I love how everything you do is geared toward real life and you also look like a real person and not a gear junky like pretty much every other fitness influencer.

I remember when I was a Teen a Navy SEAL instructor said the pushup is the best exercise for the chest. I still believe him to this day. The most pushups I've ever done in a day was 170, but it was in a hour and a half. Only did ten reps at a time.

I love minimalist trainings with simple bodyweight exercises. Sometimes I just go out in a nice wooded area and just do push ups adding as many variations as possible
