Adam walks you through how to install a DIY Misting System for your outdoor patio or gathering area.

Adam shows you how to create a custom misting system for your backyard, patio, or balcony and transform your space from uncomfortable to relaxing.

There are two ways to create a mist system:
1.) Find a pre-made kit that suits your needs
2.) Purchase individual components based on your specific needs, such as misting nozzles, tubing, tubing connections, clamps or zip ties to secure the system to your house, patio umbrella, pergola, or sail shade. Optional filters may also be needed if you have hard water.

Creating a mist system may seem intimidating at first, but it truly is a simple DIY project that anyone can accomplish.

Are there nozzles that offer a rain like feeling instead of mist? Example to drip over a pool for miniature waterfall like fun.

I’m looking for a quick disconnect straight coupler for 1/4” tubing. I would like to use these when I run drip to two large planters on my deck. That way I can disconnect the tubing easily when I need to move the planters to clean the deck or to put them in the garage for the winter.

Any advice on attaching to an aluminum awning - are zip ties the best solution? Thanks.

Hi
I watched your video and found it quite helpful.

I have a patio area adjoining a small open space where I have plants and pots. The temperatures at my place went as high as 53 degrees Celcius during the previous summer season. Almost all my plants were scorched, some beyond help. So I am considering installing a misting system for the patio as well as the garden area. The patio area is 30 feet by 25 feet and the garden area is 30 feet by 20 feet.

How many nozzles do I install for optimum cooling? Also will the system need a pressure pump?

How would you fit a timer to the system so you can adjust the spray to come on for a few seconds every minute for example? Thanks !

I live in Las Vegas and it is very dry and very hot 115*F in the summer. I converted my back yard lawn over to artificial turf to conserve water and lower maintenance (as it is very difficult to keep a lawn in Las Vegas), unfortunately, I lost a couple of my beloved trees last summer and many of bushes and plants due to the artificial grass being so hot. When the natural lawn was there, the sprinklers would cool down the yard in the evenings and mornings and it kept all my vegetation alive. I’m considering installing a kit like yours but I need to run approx 150 line feet. To keep my plants and trees from getting too hot. Would it be wise to run 1/2” pvc line to the nozzles so that there is enough volume? This is just to cool down my yard in the evenings and mornings So my vegetation has a chance to cool down before the hot sun rises. I appreciate your thoughts.

The tubing adapter in your kits says they are only rated for 30 PSI on your website. Won't these fail if they are connected to a 50-60 PSI hose as you recommend?

I have a patio that is 21' x 13', for a total misting circumference of 68'. What spacing would you recommend for the misting tees, assuming the same tees you show in this video? What if I only do the open side of 21'? Thanks!

Thank you for this! The video the company provided was awful. This is great!

That auto drain valve you linked looks like it's a 3/8. Will it work for the 1/4" kits?

If I attached the misters to my trees. Will it ruin them. Trying to create a sitting space under the shade of the tree with some misters.

What brand is this product ?
And do you have a Canadian distributor ?

My auto drain valve is at a low point, but just shoots out water in a stream the whole time, causing the system to depressurize. Any advice? Thanks

Can you install these in the shower so you don’t have to use the antiquated shower head? I feel like this would be a novel approach to showering.

What is the minimum pressure required?

I have a unique application that I'm considering using one of your kits for. I have a VBS waterslide that I built for our church. It is 6 foot tall and has its own stairs and small deck approach. The size of the deck is about 3 foot wide by 8 foot long. What I want to do is install a misting kit of some sort along the approach as a pre-soak for the kids before they go down the slide. So I only need about 8-10 foot of misting hose, or if wrapped around the approach about 16-20 feet. Would this be enough to pre-soak them standing in line before they go down the slide? The idea is to get them more slippery before sliding. Here is a better look at the slide.
