Just so everyone knows! While octopi can be cute and playful and can make great pets- they do require the special care of a salt water tank - which is a task to upkeep for many people! And even small ones need the proper tank space And stimulation always make sure to do proper research before getting any animal - particularly more uncommon ones!

Always wanted to have a pet octopus, if it weren't for their short lifespans. I'd never be able to get over loosing such a companion 😢

If it were not for their life spans, I would aspire to have one someday. I don’t know if I could take the loss, even if I had the skill to care for one. The loss of my fantastically socialized betta fish after 3 yrs was heart wrenching enough. Content to admire your beauties ❤

the best partner only live for 1-2 years. Octopus & rats just live that long. YESS rats (not mouse or mice) are smaller version of dogs🥺

Impossible to keep them in the tank. No matter how escape proof you make the tank - they’ll eventually escape. That tiny species would probably squeeze out a hole the size of a large pea.

I want my own Byrdie 😍... I searched all the places I could think to online but once I found them I wasn't sure about a specific species and if it would be happy in a tank or not. I definitely want to be an interactive Octo-mom 😏☺️ like u are with byrdie, but if they can't adapt I can only imagine what an upset octopus would be like to handle
