If you buy everything brand new you're easily looking at 10k. If you buy stuff used, much less, but still a few grand. If you're willing to do *a metric ton* of maintenance, you can do it for cheaper by forgoing some of the nicer pieces of equipment.

You could also do a low tech bio active filtration with minimal equipment I’ve done quite a few bio active filtration with my saltwater and have been very successful
